NO-CD

Does anyone know if theres a way to run rebellion with out the cd, because when I put the cd in my drive, it buzzes really loud and I'm afraid something will be damaged!

Try to copy the whole cd on the hard disk, and install Daemon tools. Mount the directory with the program into a virtual drive, and there you go!

You can use Alcohol 120% (http://www.alcohol-soft.com) trial version.

 

Make new image of the Star Wars Rebellion CD, then once the image is done, you can double click (mount) the name in the image listing. Once you mount the CD, it's going to act like a virtual CD drive; basically the computer won't know the difference.

 

But you will have to either reinstall Rebellion or manually change the registry so it knows where to look for the new CD.

 

I use a virtual cd on my laptop and it works like a charm .

Well, sure. It's always faster to run programs that are on your hard drive than it is to run them from a CD-ROM drive.

It's also more silent in your room, you can start the game, even if you forgot to put the cd in the drive, ...

 

Oh yes and some people reported, that with the game running this way the music playback was working better, when it somehow didn't, while the ran the game from the cd.

Less crashes as well, so i've been told by a mate back home.
