Err... well my PC is quite frankly majorly shagged... I paid someone £80 to get it back to it's feet and while i've got basic stuff going, attempting to do 'advanced stuff' like surf the net seems a right head-shag anytime before i'm destined to pass out after a day surfing traffic on a bike... about 11:30PM Uk time... I did take the time to leave a message on the guy's answer machine tonight to inform him if I ever see him again it will be murder... which it will be. I'm going to punch his lights out; in one.

Rage over.

Forgive me.

I just have the prospect of hoards of cops, scum-anachists, and other stupid trash getting in my way all week here in London.

Speaking of London, our president has gone to visit PM Blair. I saw on the news some protestors and anti-American feelings...but I don't trust the bias news channel 100% I saw it on. What's the word there, bro?

People are very anti-Bush at uni. Mainly cos they havn't stopped to think about if he is so bad, surely he should be over here a lot so Blair can try and act as a moderating force on him. Students tend to be very anti things in general, especially politics. I think it's good he's here. Maybe Tony can get him to calm down a little, or at least try and improve his image somewhat. :)

Oh, and I'm alive, just insanely busy!

Gosh I was a foul mood last night!

I was down at Buckingham Palace today and I have never seen so many Police in my life. Ever. Well cruising around Central London I didn't see to many 'Protesters,' but I think it's all going to kick of tomorrow and Friday.

Did the security advisers really get the London officials to stop certain subway lines ? I saw that on the news yesterday and thought of the chaos that would ensure.

Also the policemen were a bit unnerved and said, that they were able to keep things calm for a long time now

Can't blame both teams, though

Err... no! Closing London Underground would be a tab paranoid in the extreme, and anyway, the cynical British public would be pretty peeved off! I'm simply amazed at the scale of George Bush's security; it's like some Emperor moving court from the ancient world.

Having just watched the news, apparently there have been some minor clashes, giving the cops a hard time, which is what makes my blood boil so much. I believe in the next couple of days I might just be ashamed to be British.

I cannot stand these protester types who give it the large to police people (just doing their job, preserving public order) and then start smashing things up. None of them can fight, all they can do is smash and vandalise. They destroy the platform from which more moderate and reasoned people with anti-war oppinions can state their points of view. In fact they sicken me. They're the same mob who smash up European cities at G8 summits. Yes, bring people over to your coarse by smashing their town centres.

They do not represent British public opinion either. A poll in the left-wing broadsheet, The Guardian, (which I read every day) basically states that the British public welcome George Bush, and agree with our military presance in Iraq; the more so it seems, given the attempts by Islamic fascists to destroy attempts to rebuild Iraqi society. So don't let images of American flags being burnt think that that is a representation of my society. It is not.

I tend to consider most news organizations to be blatently liberal and thus automatically anti-Bush. On a more personal note I've been sick lately and although I haven't been posting I have been checking out the forums daily.-Grand Moff Conway

My dad's over in Britian this week on a business trip so I look forward to anything he's seen or heard while there. I know he's not a Bush fan, but I'm curious to wonder if some anti war nut has lured him into some stupid debate just cause he's American heh.

What's interesting in its own right is he very much dislikes (and that's a kind word to decribe his feelings on the subject :) ) politics let alone talking about it.

Does an undead produce any lifesign?
Sure, it sounds like UUUhhhhhhhhhmmmm  Just like in the Resident Evil games.

Jahled, that's the problem everywhere with demonstrations. Even if the assembled people are content with just standing there and waving signs, there are always those that kind of infiltrate the group, start shouting something different and more agressive and then leave after maybe even throwing a stone at a policeman. Very heroic, yes, but that's why I keep far away from demos, because I don't wanna get caught in a mass-fight, just cause some guys think causing chaos would sweeten up their afternoon. :?

Also I don't like politics, or talking about it, so I let them do their stuff and just vote the democratic party that sounds like it would see to the creation of most of what I found fair.

Fair be Mask dude, i've actually got a bit of egg on my face on this one because 'the scum anachists' I refered to (just after yet another PC crash) didn't actually ruin the day for the people who wanted to exercise their democratic right to protest against George Bush. About 100,000 people from every walk of life made a heck of a lot of noise in central London, and it wasn't marred by the sad souls who get carried away by the impact marching with 100,000 other people can have; and start 'smashing things up' as I also said. I was quite surprised, but obviously glad it didn't kick off.

I think the general thrust of my ire to the people who cause mayhem on such marches is they take the platform away from law-abiding people like me (I do my best :) and the issues we're basically marching for. The media are fairly basic; a riot makes better front page headlines and images than a brief scuffle over crowded congestion for example; the right wing collumists have also something to rant and rave about in their columns...

Anyway, I wasn't on the march; I was trying to work and just majorly inconvenianced by it. It went on all afternoon and was directly cutting central London in half. Every bloody time I wanted to get from the West End into the City, and visa versa, there was a mass of drum-beating bloody people in my way. It would have been easier on a push bike. The cops were having none of my desperate 'I'm self employed; paid by the job' type of protests, 'you can get round it via the Euston Road or the South Bank, was their reply.' Mumble... grumble...

Anyway, forgive me for my earlier venom; i've been on to many marches and protests in the past which have been ruined not by heavy handed police methods, but by the minority who do things like deface public monuments to Churchill; and thus the rememberance of folks like my grandfather who was a real warrior in WW2, and do their best to provoke the cops... Sad and pathetic actions that ruin a day of democratic protest for the rest of us.

Anyway, wierdly enough, I feel it's a little unfair to heep the woes of the world on Bushes' sholders; but that's a another topic for a forum far, far away...

Lifesign? Oh yeah! I'm still here... just about... :)

  • 1 year later...

I'm fine - just busy as hell generally with a group assignment. I'm either working my arse off or waiting for them to catch up so I can continue working, I hate group assignments.

Oh, I've also been having storms the past few days and been without power
