I saw on the sins forums that some people were wanting better descriptions of the ships so newcomers can better calculate what each one does so I rewrote all of the CIS ship descriptions, if you like it I can go and do the republic, empire and rebels.

Hardcell Transport:

Fast scout, nice n cheap. Ideal for late game scouting.

Diamond LCG:

The Commerce guilds mine layer and sweeper ship.

Geonosian Piniance:

Good for early game scouting, can also sweep minefields.

C-9979 Transport:

This ship carries the main assault forces for planetary invasions. This vessel also carrys necessary crews for seizing abandoned ships and neutral facilities.

Trafed II FG:

Converted freighter, cargo holds modified to hold missile launchers. Useful for early assault, significant damage when grouped.

Patrol frigate:

This vessel is equipped to deal with enemy fighters and bombers by means of flak guns.

Trafed Carrier:

A true multitasker, this ship carries assault forces capable of capturing neutral planets and neutral facilities, it also carries a large amount of mines and buzzdroids. The ships shields offer significant protection also.

Lucre hulk core ship:

Iconic spherical ship, medium turbolaser firepower coupled with with medium strength shields makes this an ideal early cruiser.

Bulwark MKI CG:

The techno unions greatest asset, heavily armoured and armed to the teeth. Good for filling out fleets later on in the game.

Recusant DD:

A more heavily armed anti-fighter cruiser, when deployed en masse they can usually overwhelm larger ships especially when they start using their unique kamikaze codes.

Munificent S-CG:

Good long range cruiser with a deadly planetary bombardment cannon.

Providence S-CG:

A good all round heavy cruiser, large fighter compliment, large attack and large shields. Whether deployed alone or en masse they are a danger all but the heaviest ships.

Lucrehulk DCS:

A droid control ship wich can co-ordinate attacks on planets and better improve efficiancy for ships around it, massive fighter compliment.

Lucrehulk BB:

The true battleship of the Confederacy, massive attack with planetary embargo abilities and complete with a huge fighter compliment, useful when assaulting enemy factions.

Providence S-CG (cap ship):

A heavier version of its cruiser cousin, better armament and a larger compliment of fighters. These ships have also been fitted with banks of torpedoes for extra damage on the hard targets.

Geonosian SDN:

A ship thats big in every department. It has a superlaser capable of massive damage to even the most heavily armoured ships and an ability that does immense damage to enemy planets.

Subjagator SBB:

Huge armament and massive shielding, once the shields dry up there is enough hull points to allow for a quick escape. Able to act alone on raiding missions deep behind enemy lines.

Thanks, but this isn't what people mean by descriptions needing updating. The descriptions ingame are fine as it is; what's needed is better counter descriptions, aka. what each ship is useful for. I have plans to use the currently useless COUNTERDESC string line/slot for this purpose.

Still, these descriptions are probably better than those in-game, more informative about the role...

Not really, no. Some of the descriptions are also incorrect, such as the Munificient, which in fact has a lower planet bombing DPS than most ships, such as the Bulwark and Providence.
