Lord_La_forge Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 Sadly there is no email adress, or any other info, just his fictive name. I tried to search him on the net, but I found nothing. Too bad...
ElvisMiggell Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Such is life. Didn't we lose track of the guy that did RebEd too? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
ElvisMiggell Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 It's a pity, we could really have used his help in some of the tc stuff. Ho hum. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Revolution has retired, there won't be many possibilities reaching him I know that editor for some time now, but haven't put it on my site, because of the errors it contains. Like you already came to know, sometimes it just doesn't work at all. Also, IIRC the ..at the start of the game is the Cannot betray box from RebEd. In older news threads on RebEd's homepage that was, what everybody thought first that this flag would be, until Revolution or someone from the guys working on Rebellion then, found out. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Lord_La_forge Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 It's interesting, I never heard of this editor before. So how many editors very made for Rebellion? I can count 3 for now. It's still possible, that some guy made one on the other side of this planet, that we don't know...
ElvisMiggell Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Don't forget ResHack. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Jin_Roh Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Are we (and by "we" I obviously mean our supertechies, not me) able to make changes to Rebed, SWRE, or this latest editor?
kaja Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Sorry, I don't know of any more editors, besides UGE. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s152/Dave-Mastor/Cluster6.jpg
ElvisMiggell Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 I have no idea, certainly i couldn't. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
the_mask Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Are we (and by "we" I obviously mean our supertechies, not me) able to make changes to Rebed, SWRE, or this latest editor? Mmm, not likely. Without the sourcecode that's almost impossible. But a new editor could be made someday http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Bromley Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Just few simple ideas, tests: I checked the recruitment box for rebels on each minor character. The game didn't crash, my only characters were palpy and Vader. I send them to recruitment missions, but as there was no other imp agent, all rec. missions failed. The rebels could recruit the imperial agents, and had the key staff (Ozzel, Veers, Jerjerrod, Piett) at the beginning. I tried this on the imperial side too, and it works the same way ... Has anyone tested both Rebel and Imperial boxes checked at the same time? I would assume that that just creates a pool that you jointly recruit from until you both hit 30, but you know what they say about assumptions .
Lord_La_forge Posted October 22, 2003 Author Posted October 22, 2003 You are correct. It was tested before.. It will tell you : "recruitment done", after you reached 30.
rahvin Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 I've never had any problem having more than 30 characters at a time. The only problem I've had is if they are checked off as recruitable by both sides. Then they don't seem to show up on either side.
Lord_La_forge Posted October 31, 2003 Author Posted October 31, 2003 You can have more than 30? Hmm... I have to test that too.
Texas_Fett Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 Mmm, not likely. Without the sourcecode that's almost impossible. That's not entirely true, Mask. After all, your 'Dllentries' replacement brings up new possibilities for replacing the event pictures in Rebed. Not exactly a 'revolutionary' change (pardon the pun) to RebEd, but a notable one, nonetheless. But a new editor could be made someday Oh, the anticipation! btvader Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 Is there no way to add to the number of characters available at the beginning of the game? If Commander Willard was at the Battle of Yavin and Commander Narra suppossedly fought against the first Death Star why should I have to recruit them all over again? I have installed RebEd and SWReditor and neither has the ability to change the starting cast (although it looked like SWReditor would...). Is there another editor I might try? In the six years I've played this game, I've seen Han actually get captured by bounty hunters and taken to Jabba (once) and faced off against the AI version of the Death Star (which was obviously crewed by chia pets) but I can't alter the initial crop of characters! Any ideas?
Guest Scathane Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 If you ask me, this isn't possible... Perhaps Mask has someviews on the question...
the_mask Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Sorry, it's just like the manual says. There's a certain amount of fixed chars and depending on the size of your galaxy one or more additional random chars. I don't have the manual within reach, so I can't tell you the exact number right now. In the "Beyond RebEd" thread vakundok came up with a solution to change (not add, mind you) the numbers of troops, fighters and specforces available at the beginning, but AFAIK the chars are hardcoded somewhere into the game http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Mace Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Before i found this excellent site i used to use a program called 'SWReditor'. This hack allowed you to set all the characters to be available from start. You could also change the probability of a character being found to be a jedi too. Do any of you have a link to the resource hacker program please? http://diplomats-empire.com/forum/images/Mace-banner.jpg
Guest Scathane Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Yes, it must still be out there somewhere. I'll see if I can find it...
Floros Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 For "SWReditor" check this site: http://lemelisk01.tripod.com/id5.html " The darkside? I've been there! Do your worst!..
