We've never left Though with our busy schedule these days, the delay was a bit longer than we thought it would be.

You might find a few differences of opinion on that one Elvis. I have it, completed it and liked it. Others in these forums have done the same and hated it.

 

I suggest you download or get hold of the demo and see if you like it. You should be able to get it on budget by now, when i bought it it was it's release date in the UK. Paid £35 for it back then.

Hey Elvis, slow as in game play. If you tell your troops to cross some terrain, they move very slowly. Kinda like playing Rebellion in slow mode...

Hmm, and there's no way to speed it up?

What about the controls, because having it slow could be an advantage in terms of complex tactics and maneuvers, but only if the control system works.

Also is there like a free play mode or is it purely mission based.

And finally, do you get given set numbers of troops or is it a collect resources and build your own job?

Well, I bought it, got stuck and didn't touch it for a long time. Then Evaders helped me with a mission and I resumed right where I left.

 

But as TK said, play the demo. If you don't like this then at least you haven't spent any money that would have been used better otherwise.

 

Although others may have a different opinon : the controls seem to me a bit like in Black and White.

You have a free play mode with both sides, aka Rebel and Imperial and you start with a preset number of resource points from which you pick the troops, that will go on-planet with you. There you can get additional resource points for destroying enemy units.

But it's still mission based, right? Finish one mission and move onto the next (like Tie Fighter or X-Wing...except not a flight sim).
