Admiral_Jid Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Hi All, Supremacy is one of my all time favourite games (it's been a decade or so since I last played it). I recently logged on to this site and discovered that it could be played over the web via Hamachi. I've persuaded some gaming friends of mine to get copies so that we can play each other. My question is whether there is a modded definitive version of the original game. Same characters, same ships, same buildings etc. but with the stats slightly (or considerably) tweaked to improve the game based on the years of gaming experience that this community has accrued. Does such a mod exist? If so, what is it called and where can I get it? Regards, Admiral Jid
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted February 28, 2009 SWR Staff - Executive Posted February 28, 2009 The closest "compete" mod I would say is Rebellion Reloaded. Massive effort there, but the team has gone on to other things now Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
budious Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 This game was really a masterpiece as far as original balancing goes. I played hundreds, if not thousands, of multiplayer games at the height of it's popularity. A skilled player had no favorite side because he knew the advantages and drawbacks of each. The mods are merely to keep some parties interested in playing the game, it's quite old obviously If you're going to play multiplayer though, I'd have no other way than to play the original content, any other form would be a disservice to the game... kind like making a special edition out of a child hood classic like Star Wars... We've all come to expect crappy balance in modern game releases because of the availability of consumers to conveniently download massive patches at the developers convenience after capitalizing on cashflow, and if they even bother to release a patch, it's often based on maintaining that cashflow and as no duty or service to the gamer. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten." - George Lucas, 1988. [u.S. Mad78 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Indeed the original balancing is very good. Most of the mods which have been made are simply tweaks which don't really change the balance but make the AI more efficient when playing in single player. But if you just wanna play multi just go for a fresh install http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
