Interface / Icons / 2d art

Guess I may as well make a thread about the 2d art.

Working on the interface now, trying to make it sort of 'put-together' like a lot of the tech in the galactic civil war era looked like. Here's a screen of the lower-main interface. Still work in progress, there's some polishing to do around the edge of the whole thing, let me know if there's anything that can be improved, if it looks 'star warsy' enough etc. I'll try to make everything along the same theme;

I like where you are going with it, though don't be afraid to add more transparency. I haven't checked how much flexibility we have with editing the size of elements either.

Transparency with what? As in shine on the control panel? I always thought star wars was sort of anti-slick and shiny. I think I may be misinterpreting transparency though.

I mean that the interface can have more holes in it to see the game behind it, I don't believe you are limited to anything else than the xy coordinates of the image...

Ahh I get it. I'm not too sure what constitutes 'blank' space though, IE actually how to make certain parts read as transparent and not just simply black (as the backgrounds in the tga are) but I'll tinker and see.

Ok, heres something I made up.

I created ship icons fro the ISD, VSD, Venator, and Victor II frigate.

I'll post them here once I find them.
