What is happening to the quality of movies that are coming out? They just keep getting lamer and lamer. Anything popular is getting turned into a movie. Harry potter was, eragon was, lord of the rings, the simpsons, comic book super heros.... what's next? the Ebay movie? The Oprah movie? The american Idol movie? They've even resorted to making movies based on video games, doom, tombradier, halo (rumor), and Ive even heard they're making a gears of war movie.

people are just running out of ideas now

thoughts?

It's true, movies are loosing quality and originality.  Why?  No one can make a movie without someone saying it's been done by someone else.  Even when they do use a book or video game as a basis, they always end up screwing it over.  For me with that stuff, I see the book movies to get an idea about what the characters should look like.  That's just what I do.  They end up screwing em over with a stupid plot.  Now, most movies are lame horror movies, cheap animated kids stuff, remakes of old movies, and the rare 1% original ideas.

Now, video game movies are something I'm excited about, especially the Halo movie (if they ever find another producing company for it).  Right now, video games are where original ideas are starting to form, though a lot are still parodies.  But just remember, just because something has a reference to something else, doesn't mean it's copying it.  Just bear with it.

You're right. There are some movies that are good like 300 and upcoming movies like POTC III, Spiderman III, Shrek III(questionable)look promising. Who knows? This just gives more opportunity for young people to come up and have good ideas that will be made into movies because film makers are so desperate.

Yea, movies about the war on terror will come out, thats if we avoid WW3, if we don't those movies will be on WW3, if we still have technology after the nuclear warfare.
