I heard a rumor about that, I think it's unlikely. I mean what would it accomplish? all 6 of the movies are covered by BFII (however poorly). And the EU isn't popular enough. The only reason I'd make a battlefront III is correct the wrongs of battlefront II and make larger and better.

 

You know something else I don't like about Battlefront II? The clones. They got rid of the origional clone voice for the clonetroopers and you only get the origional clone armor on geonosis. I'd like to see more levels where you play as the episode II clones and I want thier voice back.

YES VOICES! Stormies' voices were also cool...  :D And did you ever note that the CIS droids call the clones as 'meatbags' in CTF?? Hey, only HK-47 could say that!  ;D

 

I think they should let you choice the Phase of the armor and which legion you wish, making them have different units and heroes (Example: put the most know ones and a choice of none - man those blue stripes in the clone armors are kinda boring).

They could also make realistic vehicles (TIEs with torpedoes?!), and remove the LAAT from space battles and put it in land. Come on, that game could be even times better...

Look at BFII capital ships: RIDICULOUS! Look at the ISDs: their 'trench' is too big, they have one hangar in the SIDE! And the Venator? ONE HANGAR IN ONE SIDE! And really, the Hangar Bay should be in it's nose or belly. Ah, and do not forget that MC Cruisers, Providences, ISDs and Venators have the same interior!

 

And they could also make better looking projectiles, take a look at TIE Bomber/Y-Wing/LAAT main cannons! I preferred they in BFI!

 

FREAKING STUPID BATTLEFRONT II!  :P

 

But I still love that game! (For being one of the two 1st person shooting themed in SW! - I have no other choice  :P)

If its striving for a Galactic Conquest give me a unique hero that I can customize and lead my troops into battle. Make the space map a bit better where you try to capture the flagship of that area (Not copied and pasted from map to map) and have a ship/fighter of your own. For the ground the maps should be way bigger and more fancy to fight on with already existing maps polished and fitted properly. The main flag should be actually an actual landing vehicle area where you come out of a protected ship for the invader and the defender comes out of guarding points. Have the map also adjusted to the air flying vehicles.

 

If you want urban settings actually make it a very complex map yet simple (unlike the Death Star type). I'd love to see a space map where you can hi-jack a Star Destroyer and its yours to bring to a new space map. The commander unit could buy new unit vehicles for every kill he makes so if he kills 10 Rebels he would get 100 points to spend. If his teammates get kills its +1 to the commander to spend to get new vehicles and new lives for the map so you can actually buy back your lost reinforcement points. However buying back lives would be a special ability you could buy for your commander unit and only the best player in BF3 could use the commander.

 

Anybody agree and shall I continue with my ideas on the spot?

I agree, and you shall continue, you have nice ideas, I liked them... It would be also cool to have the ability of making Squadrons in space: in land, you can crappy call troopers to follow you (cool look when you're using a Sandtrooper and calls Stormies!  :D), so why don't be able to make squadrons in space? Of course the AI would need to have a better 'pathfinding', since in space they're really drunk (if you're a typical Xbox Battlefront II player, you should remmember the AI driving the LAAT to the enemy hangar but crashes when very near of it  :P - in other words, the game has a boarding craft but the AI doesn't board your ship). I also thinks that instead of the ships have those ugly, colored, crappy hardpoints, they should have 'intelligent hardpoints' like in EaW - more realistic, more functional (COME ON, THE ACCLAMATOR IS EQUAL A CR90 CORVETTE IN BFII!), more detailed, breakables, etc - and when you destroy all the hardpoints and do enough damage in the hull, the ship should blow! If you had enough points, call a new ship (continuing Ghostly Substance's nice idea) if you are a noob and don't have the necessary points, you LOSE! Mwhahahahaha...  :P

Ok then after seeing what I thought yesterday I shall continue.

 

Note: for singleplayer and multiplayer added "Galaxy Map Conquest".

 

For the Commander Unit it would be unlocked for you played all the maps and when you won at least 5 games. Then you will be able to use the "Commander" button on the main menu to customize your Commander and even go online to get newly made parts or even look in the modded parts on that page. If Lucasarts really cares about its games they would add a fair amount of visual only added parts to the game. If player parts contains buffs on them the player would be booted from the game and lose any stats he gained during the map (if its ranked like in Battlefield 2). For the ship you will unlock and be able to customize your ships after around 100 space wins and over 5000 kills.

 

For the multiplayer battlefield style like maps we will get my idea from before where you drop and spawn from a landing craft or a heavily armored ship in the air thats invincible to anti-infantry weapons (but weak to certain vehicles). For the normal map to map transition we know all to well in Battlefield and Battlefront multiplayer your landing craft will be your main spawn point if your the invader and the defender just spawns randomly from buildings (or military/police) outposts in cities. For the Naboo Gungans, Ewoks, Wookies, and such they would come out of their habitats as normal. For vehicles they would actually be placed infront of factories, landing craft area (actually seeing them being brought in), and in command post areas like guard outposts.

 

Oh and we would actually have a fairly big area'd map where you can fit a huge force on. Hmm, for unit classes they would stay the same and more would be added as you tech and as HK-47 said we would have ships actually have proper hardpoints and actual ships not some half-reared made vehicles. These ships would actually move and not sit still like scenery which is annoying. However the space map would have to grow also and have more room to maneuver in with capital ships you bought or captured.  AI upgraded to actually be able to control the ships if players want to fight in their space crafts.

 

Oh and as an added bonus players would be able to have their own specific ships only if they ranked high enough in their faction profile. Players would be able to choose ships already ingame or being hosted on Lucasarts site to download your own ships and customize them with an ingame sticker option and even hard points attributes like system. Well it would still stay true to FPS that you still fight with your gun but all you do is customize your commander (once its unlocked) and your starfighter. Have a profile page of what your stats is and have a signature linking you to a homepage showing what you have and what you accomplished. Lasty i'll repeat that Capital ships should have a huge area to invade and many choke points that can also be over taken quickly by both sides. Something huge so you can explore also and have sneak attacks to the bridge for hacking the ship and controlling it for your side. Your logo would replace the other team's logo.

It would probably be on next generation consoles and amazing, brand new PCs....

Well I meant done for now  :) Well I also had a Capital Ship idea which I found recently and put it in a safe sub-forum. I could quote it in a PM for you so I don't lose it again. I like making ideas that Petroglyph should make a proper sub-section for making new game ideas. If this rumor is true they better not mess up or i'll hate them as much as I do with EA games. Bandai (American side) is slowly annoying me bit by bit for their lack of intelligence. They ruined two Gundam games on us anime Gundam fans..........

They shouldn't have done the dumb "Every faction is exactly the same and has the same classes of ships  and troopers which preform virtually indentically except for looks" for BF2. Its simple and easy to get at first, then it gets lame.

 

That CP in the ship, if that make the ship captureable, and that you get fighters from it, then it'd be a step.

 

If you could control the ship, then it'd be better. (make it like an AT-TE but have it need around 20 gunners (for the larger cannons) and a few for steering)

 

Fully destroyable capital ships would be nice too...bomb out ist subsystems, then kep circling the hulk and bombing it until it has craters and splits.

 

Of, the subsystems shuld actually DO something. Like killing life support take out all the gunners and people controlling the ship, as well as anyone not it in the hangar or something. Engines should stop it from being able to steer, sensors should get rind of the minimap/map, comm array should make it so you can't type and use the comm, etc...and make those subsystems fully repairable as well.

 

It'd be more strategic, not just ego shooter - land your craft, go inside, spawnkill everyone >.> or just shoot all the ships coimign out of the hangar.

Hmmm.... Don't think so... In terms of SW realism, how could someone repair an ISD engine in the middle of the battle?!  :-\

If there were enough technicians! lol.

 

you'd definately need more than 64 people in a team though  (you'd need like 30 technicians standing in the engine room repairing it lol...). more like 128 per side. Oh the horrible lag!

I don't think anyone should drive the capital ships, that would be really boring. A better solution would be to have the capital ships move on a pre-determined course where they make passes at each other. Or maybe take a leaf of the BF2 book and have a commander for each battle that could control all of the capital ships and choose what they shoot at etc.

 

Or maybe the main ships' command center and other parts could be reached by getting on the ship.

Well, flight plans would be a great step. Like actually making broadside passes with each other, with all heavy guns ablaze (heavy guns that are actually correct...not like those ugly BEAM TURRETS in SWBF2.

I think this may just be a rumour, as LEC have stated that they would not be working on a PC game in the next year as they are concentrating on the Forces Unleashed game.

well the space battles a need a lot of work, the fighters are well made, but the capitol ships are useless, the turrets do no good, they never move, they are to small. and the frigates, well they are just dumb, they are way to small, and way to easy to destroy, and completely useless. the space battles should just be scrapped all together, it was a good idea, but poorly done
