Lamest way to die?  Are you being absolutely serious?  He was so awesome the only way they could even possibly kill him was to drop a MOON on him.  A FRIKKIN MOON people! 

 

And frankly, that was one of my favorite Star Wars books ever.

i think if they had to kill someone(and they really did need someone to die) it should have been one of the main EU charactors (like mara, or one of the solo kids) instead of one of the main characters for the movies

Why can't they kill off a main character NORMALLY? They never do that. It always has to be something grandoise, it takes a fricken moon to kill him off. Yes, I'm happy they did it or it'd be some kid show where its always a happy ending.

 

I generally try to kill off my main characters in most stories I write in a normal way.

I agree, they need to kill off characters in normal ways, not some extravagant event, Chewie's death was lame and needs to be redone

and yes the Physics of Dropping a moon onto a planet by adjusting Gravity is possible, Physically just not Technologically as we cannot creat Gravitational Fields of enough magnitude and to do so would cause our Moon to collide with the Earth.

 

sounds daft but how in Star Wars can you hear the TIE's 'Scream' if sound doesnt travel in Space?

You can hear ALL sounds in space from turbolaser fire to TIE scream to Torpedo sounds to explosions!

The truth is that in the Star Wars universe, there is...something in space that lest you hear sound. Or that it'll just be hellishly boring without SFX. (try playing EaW with projectile sounds off..*yawn*...imagine watching a movie like that *double yawn*)
