Like the topic title says, which do you guys think is more worth buyinng? PS3 or X360?

Please, post constructive opinions, not "I prefer this one because I have it" or "My friend said that one is better".

Moved it belongs here i personally like the Xbox as the games will be better at the moment at least as it is getting to the 3rd generation of games released.

PS3 is getting more games in the market and its still beginning you got to remember that. Once PS3 settles down and starts releasing games it would equal the Xbox 360 or even surpass it with time. Your choice just don't turn into the borg.

 

edit: PS3 has: Gundam Musou (Best game in Japan and soon in NA), Bladestorm 100 Years War, Lair, Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, Star Wars Forces Unleashed, Assassin's Creed, Killzone, Grand Theft Auto 4, Heavenly Sword, Home (A social program/game where people meet) and ect.

Xbox 360, simply because I think it has the funnest looking games (Mass Effect, Halo 3, Dead Rising, Gears of War, etc).  Not to say PS3 doesn't have good things going for it (littlebig world, I think, White Knight Story, the FF games, etc)

but on topic, the xbox 360. Mostly just because the PS3 costs a buttload of money and I can't think of a single PS3 exclusive game that I'd even want to buy at half price. The 360 has, and is going to have some awesome games. like...... HALO 3!!!!!!!!11

Well, my opinion (it isn't the more constructive until now in my own topic  ):

Xbox 360 too. I haven't looked at both videogame specs yet, but to start the good thing in the Xbox 360 for me is that I have the previous Xbox and I would be able to still be able to run my games. I also liked more the X360 controller than the PS3 controller. Like Cheeseinator said, the PS3 is more expensive...

Seriously though, this time I agree on some of your points. Yes, the PS3 is still beginning and it will get more games after a while, and it may even surpass XO in time.

 

About the games you mentioned, yes, Gundam is the most sold game in Japan but that doesn't make it the best at all. The Japanese people are known for buying insane amounts of mediocre games too, if they're of the right franchise. SW: Forces Unleashed is being released for XO too, so is Assassin's Creed and GTA4.

 

At the moment PS3 is losing almost everything the PS2 gained Sony. The console and its games seem good, most likely it's the price that's making it struggle so horribly. XO has the largest sales numbers 'cause it has been on the market the longest, but PS3 is really not  gaining enough to ever catch it. The PS3 is selling worse than Gamecube, which in turn sold the least in the last war. At the moment it looks as if the Wii will get the largest market cut.

 

Gamecube had too few games. If PS3 keeps selling like this it will have even less. I think XO is more worth buying, although not being able to play MGS4 is painful as hell.

Well yes and no Relentless. The Japanese have different play styles and once they bring their style to North America people moan and complain because its not their style. Those Mediocre games are actually under-rated by Gamespot and random other reviewers (gamespot has even been caught being bias multiple times and same with X Play). PS3 has a nice library its just people tend to be the Borg here in America so thats why sales are falling while in Japan as I said people are more independent it seems (Different styles).  Halo does well here in America but it fails in Japan, Gundam does well in Japan and does ok in North America. For Europe I have no flippin clue thats why I left them out.

That's what I did after the last console war, unfortunately consoles seem to be taking all of the games for themselves! Call of Duty 3 was made console exclusive, Halo wars, gears of war, and now force unleashed.

Japan is a huge market sector and the ultimate reason why the Wii will surpass XO in sales.

 

@Ghostly: Yes, one should not blindly trust reviews. But if a game gets horrible ratings everywhere in the world, it really is bad. In Japan, some such games (Gundam included) tend to sell well because of their strong franchise. For example, anything with "Mario" in it will sell, whether it really is a quality platformer Mario or a crappy sports game Mario.

I doubt it, a price drop might happen around the holidays at the soonest, but even then the PS3 won't be at a reasonable price until 2009

I think they thought it would be a accetable price at first but they now realize that nobody wanted a bluray player they just wanted the games so maybe now they will lower teh price if they dont well i odnt think they will continue on very well.

they're selling either way since I took the last one at Best Buy  They must have lots in stock just can't put all them on display since 1) They are heavy and 2) too big  : Its worth it i'm having fun with Gundam: Crossfire. Its extremely under-rated game since its not American. I mean the game is American but not the series. Went well into $1000 (Being a Canadian our prices are higher then Americans) but still I got one as a B-day gift (a week early I might add)so who cares Gotta love the lottery. Well try asking the people who were standing in life if this console is worth or not and even the people who have it  ;D For those that got a PSP the OS on this PS3 is basically the same (obviously).

 

Things I don't like about the PS3 is that it doesn't come with a second controller and that it can't use a PS2 memory. Ah well i'm not starting up my Zeta Gundam game for PS2 unless i'm in the mood.

Although, I think next year I'll buy a Xbox 360... Took a look at it, and I really don't want to lose my about 28 Xbox videogames...

you can't by a console for £300-£500 for just one game. i mean don't get me wrong Halo and Gears are mostly what interested me in a 360 but i was also playing my mates 360 got me hooked as well
