Question, no laughing

You need photoshop to edit skins and icons.  Skins are textures that go over models in the game, for everything from troops to ships to planets.  Icons are the, well, icons in the game.

 

Right now we are limited to re-skinning existing models, or copies of those models if you do some hex editing.

Personally i use Adobe Photoshop CS2, but starter edition should do the job too.

 

The problems with some textures are that they have alpha channels etc, that might confuse a beginner. I suggest you work on "simple" textures first, then head for the more advanced. I think there's a sticked tutorial for .dds editing. You'll also need Nvidia's plugins for this extension which can be found here.

Athanasios, ok I just looked up adobe cs2  for sale, 649.00$  ???!!!! where did you get that kind of cash for a computer program...trust me I would love to mess with some things form the game but....I really want a supercharger for my car, guess I know where my priotities lie.....know if you might happen to know somehwhere that I can get something like that cheaper you should PM me.
