Do you think either of these should be put into eaw? it would be good if had black holes and if you got too close and it sucked your entire invasion force in it , just like real space or crush them.

White holes well the spit time and matter in space

No.  just, no.  Black holes have only been mentioned in Star Wars what, once, twice, 0 times? I dunno, but still, if black holes were introduced, then people would put them in EVERY SINGLE SPACE MAP THEY PRODUCE.

To my knowledge, it's never used. However, it could definitely be used in space maps for the Maw Installation, which would be super cool.

White holes................................ Sounds like Star Trek junk

A white hole is just a black hole that's visible because a stream of matter can be traced into it from it's source (usually a star)...I think...

Agreed. I advocat some black holes on perhaps a Maw Installation map. Otherwise, leave them out. Just useless clutter that'll get in the way of the fun...

Never really liked the idea of adding more obstacles in the space maps, just to turn it into a 2D ground-like map. Space is space.. and there's a lot of it. The scale of an asteroid belt or a nebula would be quite a lot larger than the spaceships. But then, I'd prefer full 3D environment (ala Homeworld) anyway

1) There's a black hole in the background of the Corellian space map.

2) Having a black hole on the space maps as actual obstacles is just stupid.

3) Pretty much all black holes can be identified by the matter around them. In fact, that's the only way you can actually identify if a black hole is there. You can't see 'nothing' since the photosphere around a Black Hole will warp the light around it, meaning from all but very close (relatively speaking) range, you'll see absolutely nothing out of the normal. Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordstrøm, and Kerr black holes can all have accretion disks (the Schwarzschild will actually have a cloud rather then a disk), and the Kerr holes will have jets.

4) A white hole is just science-fiction fluff, and it's actually supposed to be a 'reverse' black hole, where they expell matter instead. The idea is that they're what's on the 'other side' of a black hole. Obviously, the biggest flaw with the White Hole theory is that if it was spewing matter and energy out, all that matter would accumulate around the white hole, which would cause it to collapse into a black hole...

And that is also why black holes are barely more than a theory.  Even if they have discovered "Super black holes" or whatever in the center of the galaxy, in my opinion it's just like dark matter:  THEY DON'T KNOW! (and won't know until one of our ships gets sucked into a black hole while exploring deep space)

I never said it wasn't real, I just said that there is no PROOF.  Personally, I beleive that black holes exist.  There is just no hard evidence to suggest they do.

Well, doesn't gases from nebulae and stars and random junk in space getting sucked into a limitless void count? Well, actually they're just compressed to the point of practical nonexistence (hence the extreme gravitic field), but saying "sucked into a limitless void" is just so fun to say...

Ain't it the truth?  Anyway, maybe I'm wrong.  But I'm one of those people who don't believe it until they've seen it, unfortunetly.

Gotta say, I'm mostly that way too.
