Kind of like the shiplist...but better

well well well...here is the list of ships i propose for the New Republic. some may already have been taken care of, and i'm not sure which we can model easily. after ALL the research of the past several hours, i have arranged the ships by the order in which they were researched and developed by the New Republic.

1st we have:

1) Republic-class Star Destroyer(1250m long, equal to ISD in strength at half the price )

2) Belarus-class Light Cruiser(400m slightly weaker than strike cruiser)

3) Corona-class Line Frigate(based on original Neb-B Frigate)

4) Nebula-class Star Destroyer(1040m long, mobile battle platform like original ISD, with many ground units)

5) Agave class Picket(190m long, like a corvette, fast,stealthy, lightly armed for recon)

6) Sacheen-class Escort (375m long escort frigate replacement)

7) E-Wing...enough said

And then, the more advanced

1) K-Wing- heavy, high speed bomber

2) Defender starfighter- VERY manuverable, 3 lasers, speed of an xwing)

3) Endurance-class Fleet Carrier(Center of the fleet, 6 squads of fighters, decent armaments)

4) Defender class Star Destroyer(my personal fave equals an ISDII in firepower, known as a 'pocket' SD at 1040m long)

5) Warrior class Gunship (190m, stronger than the traditional Gunship, can blunt the nose of an ISD...fast)

6) Hajen Fleet Tender (unarmed big big big transport)

7) Majestic Heavy Cruiser(PURE combat vessel, strength of an ISD, none of the extra junk)

Defender-class Assault Carrier(700m long, 20 heavy lasers, 3 squads of fighters.)

9) C-wing starfighter(original design by Incom, Vader 'interrogated' the designers, so the plans were lost early on in the Rebellion. Very expensive, but a hell of a fighter...6 lasers, 2 ions, proton torp launcher, speed at about twice that of an A-Wing...it's basically a big interceptor, not necessarily too manuverable.

 

Well that's about it, i have more specific stats for those interested, i'll work on typing those up into a presentable format. I have designs for most of the ships also...but they're basically sketches. And without a scanner...well i cant really post them quite yet! I'll work on that tho. And have no fear, i have a list of Imperial ships that would be needed also for balance

Actually Ace, this is a NEW CLASS ship series...so all the existing classes mentioned normally should be present. Such as the MC-80, MC-80a, MC-80b, MC-90, Mon Calamari Star Defender (only rebel supership). As for the timeline, i hadnt known there was a specific timeline...most of these ships are from the Black Fleet Crisis saga. Which isn't too long afterwards. Some of the ships were design earlier. is it from the first thrawn saga or the second one, the duology? well in any case, those problems can be sorted out. just give me a specific frame to work with...i'd just hate to see all these wonderful ships go to waste but compromise is always important. i just want to replace ships like the cc-9600, cc-7700, liberator, dauntless, bulwark....i mean i consider those ships non canon, and easily replaceable.

alright...some basic info. am i too assume that new ships cant be added, but existing ones can only be replaced? that would make a big difference in the shiplist i provided obviously. any other limitations i should know about? i hate being a n00b...

You can only replace existing ships, indeed. You can also make ships be built by both sides, gain a slot by getting rid of the Dreadnaught. (except the Death Star) The TC is set shortly after Thrawn takes command of the Imperial Forces, but it will strech out a lot after that, so some of the New Class ship would definetely come into the later stage of the research timeling.

sadly no images are available...i created the models some time ago...before the damn hard drive went under.... ...but it once i find the appropriate modelling program, i should be able to whip some up... if i could find a scanner, i could just send a sketch to u, but i havent access to one. and i'm working right now to see which ships would be replaceable. i didnt mean for all the new ships to be used, just wanted to provide some ideas. i'll see what i can do tho, and i'll be back after some sleep haha.

Hey, why do you not work up a Black Fleet Crisis TC? Determination and skill, paired with motivation should get you fairly well along the line.

 

As for "our" TC: The time period is different, and we really have to use those standard ships (it isn't Star Wars without them; look at EP I).

 

Care to join the modeling team? I guess Gank and Mask would be very pleased if at least some of the strain is taken off their backs.

i would be happy to help. i in no way feel the need to push all of these ships or anything like that, but right now i'm trying to figure out which if any of them can fit into the thrawn area. this is merely to help reloaded. as of right now, the Republic class supposedly should have existed at the time, tho may not have seen action. I would like to help with any modeling, if there is any to be done just holler my way.

As far as I know, nobody has yet completed a Republic model for Rebellion, so that desperately needs doing.

yes i saw saxman's, i have my own design. he actually sent that to me when i was doing some stuff for XWA. in his explanation, he talks about mixing together a few existing designs. i didn't think that'd work since it was of genuine rendili stardrive manufacture, so it should be based solely off the victory. the victory was succesful, just out dated, so i just added some 'bells and whistles,' simplified command structure, and...added a bit. i'll work on the model i doubt it'll take long.

Very good. Just tell Mask or Gank so they do not bother with doing a model, too. worktime is just too limited.

 

Will you be able to make up some rendered shots based on your model I could use for the card?

yeah that shouldnt be a problem. it's been a great while since i've used 3ds max, but it shouldnt be hard to relearn. i did it the first time anyways. i'm not too good with textures tho, so i'll hafta hand it off to someone else for that. whenever i finish the modelling, i'll post some rendered pics of that, see if anyone likes it , then have it textured. i'm hoping it'll come out good, it looks neat on paper haha...
