rebeldream Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I added about 25 planets to the GC map that had 43 planets. I just can't play a galaxy wide conflict without planets like Yaga Minor, Bastion, Lianna, Raithal, Balmorra, Rendili, Sluis Van etc. But giving planets coordinates that didn't collide with or weren't too close to others was a long tedious process. I took the coordinates from an existing nearby planet to use as a starting point for new coordinates, then fired up the game to check. So it was pretty hit and miss and the core / deep core area was hell. Is there a better way to do this? I sure hope the editor comes with a drag and drop interface for planets.
DragonShadow Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Shrink the scale of the planet models, that'll give you more space to put planets in. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
rebeldream Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 Ahh, I didn't think of that. Will that affect the surrounding icons of the planet as well?
DragonShadow Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I don't think it does, but there's probably a way to shrink that as well. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
maxdo Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 gratz on adding planets i wish i could do stuff like that sorry for my bad bad grammer my skills are in games and reading books
Iamme Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 change the galaxy size scale larger. You can literally give yourself a bigger galaxy to arranged planets accurately.
DragonShadow Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Change the scale factor on the Galaxy Model (first entry in planets.xml) the way you did with the planet models, just make it bigger instead of smaller. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Zer_Teron Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 You also can just start up the game and alt-tab out, you dont need to restart the game everytime you make a change. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
z3r0x Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 The coords are ez. The first number is left or right of center. "-" being left and "+" being right the second number is the vertical postion. "+" being up and "-" being down. Remember the its all from dead center.
