Necro Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 (edited) was cruising thru the lucasforums when pg-darthtorpid said this: Once you create the planet in PLANETS.XML you also have to add it to the tag within a campaign file for it to show up on the map. -Darth Torpid-Game Designer-Petroglyph just a heads up for those who wanna add more planets! dw333 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 hmm.. was very simple, just time consuming... Necro Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 you are a GOD! can we get a release soon - perferably one with starting with 1 planet?
dw333 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 v1 of 'civil war' mod wont be ready until sometime this weekend. And will only include changes to ALL space aspects! but no ground changes (am working on it though) Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
Necro Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 what about releasing the galaxy so others can use it in their mods or even better improve it - adding more planets (unless you covered all 300+ hundred of em oh and is it possible to make trade routes visible...so i know where i can be attacked from?
dw333 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 you can only have about 80 planets, i had over 100 at one point, adding more really starts to slow down the game (even with 2GB RAM)! You will see it in another mod soon! the planets are almost completely done, the TEXT edits for planet descriptions is VERY time consuming. Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
Necro Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 is it possible to split them into sectors? like rebellion? that way you could get the other planets in too!
dw333 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 not that i know of, sorry. Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
AdmScreed Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 you can only have about 80 planets, i had over 100 at one point, adding more really starts to slow down the game (even with 2GB RAM)! You will see it in another mod soon! the planets are almost completely done, the TEXT edits for planet descriptions is VERY time consuming. Have you tried going into Rebellion and just copying the text files for the correspnding planets? Would save alot of typing time, and it's pretty accurate for what I can tell.
dw333 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 note even lowering to 80 plantes, has major problems once half are visible, i think that the game might be limited to 50 or so to make it playable! To bad! very limited engine in this case now... Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
WarHawk_pff Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 (edited) my planet isn't showing up in the campaign even though I added it to the locations list. edit: nevermind I had spaces in the planet name, fixed it, but now the right name isn't showing up. also, I don't think it would be that hard for someone skilled in programming to come up with a program with a easy to use graphical interface to do this...maybe even there will be an official one? it's very straight forward in modding the files, and easily accessible. dw333 Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 you need to add planets to campaign and add a string in the master text file for each plant. Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
