For XFire the standard keys are Scroll Lock + S. It is in Tools--->Options--->Chat.

I'm not in the market for any new CPU.  Instead i will spend about £500 adding 2GB of ram and a 512Ghz GeForce 7800GTX.

FYI: CPU = Central Processing Unit in other words the processor, not computer... AMD Athlon/Intel Pentium/What ever.
