Dorkthehunter Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Just make your bombers a ctrl# key. I make my bombers 2 squad. I don't know why. PipfunatUT Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 ya that works until they die and are respawned.. just a big hassle to have to do that a few times a battle hook'em
Pierre Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 You're still thinking about building a strategy in this game ? I gave that up long time ago... My last mistake was trying to save ships from destruction by removing them from battle when they suffered heavy dommages (like no functionning canon left...). BIG ERROR ! Doing this prevents the arrival of reinforcements... so the ships have to die. Sadly, this game is nice and beautiful, but it has nothing to do with strategy. Not a scoop, strategy tends to be out of video games industry nowadays. < sigh > Pierre, Always up for a rebellion game, Hardly waiting for a rebellion 2.
MajorPayne Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 The pause function comes in mighty handy when selecting units. Learn to use it as it will becomes like your best friend. At least thats the way I see it.
Cobra848 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 To select a specific type of vehicle hit your ctrl+A and then press once with left mouse click on the icons below. Now make them a group. If you press on the same icon again, you will select that one unit. Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 just double click and TIE Bomber squad and all in the screen are selected thats how i do it. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Davynelord_pff Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 What I do is hit ctrl-A to select all units, then click once on the group of units that I want, then assign them a number. If I ever need to have a single unit (like bombers in some cases) shoot at two or more different targets, I just do a double click on that unit. Also, selecting any unit then pressing ctrl + Y will select all units of that type. Lastly, the pause button is your friend. Use it to assign units and orders and also to examine the battlefield. I know I should take my own advice on this one because I too often forget to use the pause feature, just slips my mind because I'm into the action, lol.

Back on topic -> Pausing the game is a good method, I would agree with that. In multiplayer simply double click on a unit and it selects all the same units on the screen. Then assign them a team number via ctrl + (number). After that point you can just push the number you assign. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
crazylegsmurphy Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 In my opinion, having to pause the game to keep things organized is the sure sign of a faulty setup.
Jameswgm Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Strategy - : a careful plan or method (Taken from Merriam-Webster Dictionary) Well maybe you don't have a careful plan or method when you play the game, but I do. That also depends on your definition of careful. Why both taking much care of ships that can be replaced by ten other in a couple of minutes. As Pierre said, why bother? No matter the care you take over battles it really doesn't affect the grand scheme whatsoever. James.
Lord Pickle Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 That also depends on your definition of careful. Why both taking much care of ships that can be replaced by ten other in a couple of minutes. As Pierre said, why bother? No matter the care you take over battles it really doesn't affect the grand scheme whatsoever. James. It takes a while to build the top level ships. Plus what do you think your opponent is going to do during that time? He will atack you again and again unless you have some strategy beyond build somemore ships. Why do people say such foolish things its a strategy game and one with persistence of course taking care of your fleets matters.
