Re: Scrolling locking on Galactic map

Hi,

 

I'm having an issue whereby on the galactic map the map scrolls either to bottom left or right extremity - and refuses to be scrollable after reaching the extremity. Neither the keys, nor the mouse will move it - everything else still functions though. It 'feels' as if a scroll key was jammed (when they aren't) - Fighting the scrolling with either keys or mouse simply causes it to stop for the duration its being opposed, afterwhich it continues to the extremity.

 

The problem seems to happen after either a space/battle when returning to the galactic map, but is random in that it doesn't happen after every battle or event.

 

The only solution that seems to fix it is exiting and restarting the game, alt tabbing out, or reloading a game doesn't work.

AFAIK its not my hardware or software, as its an issue I don't get in anyother game/program. I didn't notice the problem in the demo version either, oddly. The game was fully patched before playing, so cant comment on if a patch caused it.

 

If anyone could help shed some light on what could be causing it, I would love to know - as its hampering my efforts to annihilate some Rebel scum .

I think I saw this both before and after the patch at least once each, but I know what your talking about.  I  haven't yet fooled around with the control settings for mouse scrolling, maybe there's an arrangement in there that helps.

This happend to me once in an online Galactic COnquest game. Dunno where it came from.

hit the directions key hard, then its solved, and i mean this seriously, just hit the directios key as hard as allowed, not as hard as you can but give it a big hits

It happens to me all the time, in skirmish and everywhere. I just wait until it goes away, holding the directional buttons in the opposite direction of which its scrolling and moving with the mini map.

Happens to me all the time too.  I think if you are holding an arrow key when a tactical battle ends it causes it.  What I find works is when you get back to the gal map just hold the arrow key of whichever direction it is scrolling to for a few seconds.  When you release it everything should be back to normal.  Always works for me.

Can you guys get this to where you can repeat every time?  Steps would be very helpful.

I don't think I could do it if I meant to; it's not that I am holding directional keys when the interface switches which I could see as a potential cause. It occurs at random, I may have been on the galactic map for 5 minutes and it'll just happen. It must be keyboard related, it's only the arrow range of movement, it doesn't scroll in irregular directions. I have had it occur where it will scroll at a 45 degree angle and I have to hold 2 arrow buttons to compensate.
