dw333 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) Star Wars: Civil War, is underway! First release by Tuesday will include over 100 planets with trade routes (with interdiction/assembly areas), data editing (scale, damages, movement, special abilities, numbers, costs, build times, hardpoints, etc, basically everything), many many more units (but no new models), text edits and additions for everything new and old! So much, need to get to work, will post a formal document later, before release. Edited February 19, 2006 by Cain Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
DragonShadow Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Wow...the Death Star is really fun to watch!!! Kaboom! http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Nevets Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Wait, there is data for 100 planets on there? and there is no new models to add in game, like the venator?
akulapanam Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Venator's in, as are Pod Walkers, and Swamp Speeders.
WhiteSkull Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 nev moders can add a unlimted amount of planets the devs stated. Also if he adds in like vic 1 2 and 3 and ISD 1 2 etc.. type units he can reuse skins and just add new weapon/hp/shield numbers.
Necro Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 i'd like to see a few things in the next few days (small mods to entertain while we wait) 1. all rebellion planets (at the very least) - should be VERY easy to do. 2. start the game a bit earlier techwise where venator, at-pt pod walkers, and vwings aren't useless.
kingdark Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 agrees:because i wont use the older fighters, i use only x and the bombers http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
akulapanam Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 The problem with adding planets is that without the map maker you have to reuse maps, which in my mind, defeats the point. Also Kamino is a planet that exists but is not enabled in the 43 planet galactic conquest. Some planets like Bespin and Kamino need ground maps.
Foshjedi2004 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 For kamino just use the Mon Cal Ground Map http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Shadowtrooper Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Perhaps, but I think it may still be better for it to have a unique map. Just my two cents. :-\ P.S. Does anyone have the collector ed? I believe it has more maps. Just curious as to whether or not it's got maps for planets like kamino. (I can hope right?) Nevets Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 nev moders can add a unlimted amount of planets the devs stated. Yea, but what is the point of doing that if all the maps are the same? For kamino just use the Mon Cal Ground Map Kamino I think may be harder to do even with a map editior. It has to be lifted up off the gorund below. Would have been nice if they had Bespin in, just change cloud city to the one on Kamino, and change the gound to blue.
dw333 Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 what i meant was i have added a total of 50+ planets, and working on unit data for 50+ more units. will need to reuse models until they can be imported into game. that kind of sucks, but its all i/we/anyone can do right now! New update, i have I'mportant crap to do (personal), so now im looking at Thursday or Friday, maybe wendsday for 1st basic release! Dan WilliamsMod Project : Star Wars - Civil War (v0.3)
Pierre Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 It would be cool to have a "Rebellion" mod. - build times dramatically increased,- prices dramatically increased,- maintenance economy,- MORE (a lot more) characters and the ability for them to make missions... like sabotage installations.- Popular support feature, influencing the garrisons necessities... Ah... Forget it. Rebellion is so far ahead of EAW... Why is video games industry is going backward ? Don't answaer that, I know. Pierre, Always up for a rebellion game, Hardly waiting for a rebellion 2.

Ah... Forget it. Rebellion is so far ahead of EAW... Why is video games industry is going backward ? Don't answaer that, I know. I'll second that. Though sadly I'd be suprised if it were even possible to hack-mod the last two features into EaW, but admittedly I haven't checked every square inch of the whole mod support thing.
Nevets Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I suppose Lok and Mustafar wont be that hard to mod in.
