Space Station Models

Ok, now, I know that the stations above lvl 1 don't have models ingame, BUT when you zoom in on a planet with an advanced space station, you see a textured model of the space station. Would it be possible for someone to find this "mini-model" and scale it up to be used in the actual tactical battles?

Well, I have seen and fought a level 5 space station and it was visible.  I loaded up a new game with bryants mod 2.0 and immediately took a fleet of imperial ships to a planet (alderaan I think) and it had a huge space station which was clearly larger than the level 1 and it did look as if it had extra addon's to it.  I should have took a screenshot, but wasn't thinking about it.  Anyway, I lost pietts SD, 2 other SD's 2 interdictors, all my fighter and bomber squadrons that spawn from the destroyers, boba fett (slave 1) and a few other ships I can't recall.  The only ships they had there was one hero ship (forgot who the commander was).  However, the space station was spitting out infinite x-wings, y-wings, corvettes and nebulon-b frigates and was incredibily difficult to do damage to with since the planet was firing the ion cannon at my SD's and had them frozen too far away from the space station to be able to destory the hangar.  Needless to say I got slaughtered.

Since we can't mess with the models, the same issue would arise because of the hardpoints issue.  The hardpoints are assigned within the modeling program if it is anything like Armada II and until we can import/export the models in the game we are limited as to what we can do.  Some people have come up with some ideas to get around this temporarily though.

We can mess with the 3D models I mean I can :) but the space station work well in the demo you just have to remove some spawning frigates if you use pirate stations etc. otherwise it would cause CTD. They didn’t put all the 3d models for the demo so sometimes during land battles if you use some mods it may cause crash to desktop because it lacks the necessary 3d models or cause some wired stuff.

 

How many heavily modified Venators and some V-wings plus Z-95 headhunters does it take to destroy a level 5 Space Station?  About 26 or so ;)

how comes you have 100 pop cap ???

Yup! that's exactly what the level 5 station looks like.  Kinda cool looking.

 

As for the population cap, I think you just have to own a lot of planets.  I once played a game where i owned over 25 planets and I had a pop cap around 200 or so, probably was higher than that, but I got stuck on a invisible space station and just quit the game, that was before I knew about the glitch/error.

No, he was asking about the space tactical pop cap.  It should be set at 20 for Imperials and 25 for Rebels, no chance of changing.  The way that he got 100 was by changing the Factions.xml file to allow it.

I figured I would remake the stations to be as followed

 

Level 1 - Platform LV1 (like XW/TF Series)

Level 2 - Platform LV2

Level 3 - Golan 1

Level 4 - Golan 2

Level 5 - Golan 3
