Intel PIII or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz or faster

256 MB RAM or higher

100% DirectX 9.0c compatible Sound Card

8X Speed CD-ROM drive or faster

56Kbps or faster connection required for Multiplayer.

DirectX: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c is included on this CD.

NOTE: DirectX may require the "latest" drivers for your particular hardware.

INSTALLATION: 2.5 GB of free hard drive space required. We recommend that you have an additional 200 MB of free space available after installation.

As delphi stated on the old forums. Those are the minimum Requirements. Ebgames states that as well by saying those stats are the required ones to play.

Delphi Stated

Recommended Spec NOT Min would be around:

Windows 2000/XP

Intel 1.8 GHz

512 MB RAM

128 MB Video or better

56k +

Activision Germany gave this commentary:

I would like to mark that RAM is the most important factor!

512 MB are for liquid playing in higher resolutions a must, more are always good.

RAM of the graphic card is rather secondary. Straight if many units are on the map, help more RAM importantly!

We are playing with a P4 3.2 GHz with 1 GB RAM and a GEFORCE 6600.

Runs in highest detail stages on 1280x1024 (without Antialiasing naturally) without large interruptions.

I wish there was a maybe.

My laptop is below mim req. BUT should be able to play it(with some lag).

Ex. My laptop can play Rome Total war with MASSIVE unit sizes(9000+units) on the map and have shorter loading times and less lag than my above mim req desktop. So EaW shouldn't be a problem for it even though my computer is below Mim. Req.(hey, EaW has less units on the map)

You didn't need to do that. Most computers can run games that require more ram and such than the computer has(read above)

These are such comp friendly specs, and it's great to see since my comp is an aging 4 year old 2 GHz P4. Most RTS games require 1.6 Ghz minimum, so I say a round of applause for Petroglyph for making this game more accessible to older machines :D

My comp will slay this game. I reckon that Ill be playing with highest settings and high ant.

Reselution will suck tho, as my 24'' dell quit on me a week ago so I have to use a crappy 17'' crt. :x

I just hope that they didn't sacrifice gameplay for lower specs, such as unit limit, map size, etc.

Wow, Fosh, that's not a laptop, that's a desktop replacement. Good luck taking that place somewhere :). I had a power notebook like that too, and I switched it for a tablet. No point in having a 2nd desktop for me ;).

My computer is so far above the recommended specs that the game is going to ship with a white flag because it already surrenders. Of course for those folks who say this game should have better specs, for what? The specs are on the level that we always wanted, they're on the level of what we always dreamed Rebellion could be. Hell the specs are just fine the way they are.
