Garbageben Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Now I'd be the first to admit that I'd like to try out some of the excellent mods being made for this game. However from what I've heard about making heroes die when they're supposed to, there could be a large problem resulting from one scenario that could cripple the game. So I know that LoW is going to have the DS2 (correct me if I am wrong). This goes for either DS really. We now know that Red Squadron (a hero) is the only counter currently to the DS. In the mod (especially with the DS2) when Red Squadron dies then there would be no way that the DS could ever be destroyed! In the case of DS2 it could destroy whole Rebel fleets with impunity. I trust that you all have thought on this and I hope that you can somehow allow for a balancing. I'm not trying to insinuate that you have all forgotten about this. Just voicing some concerns. Finally thank you for devoting your time to making mods to enhance the great experience that will be Empire at War. http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png
Popcorn2008 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I guess we'll have to see how this all works out. It is rather odd to have only one counter to such a powerful weapon. Hmmm I guess time will tell... http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Dorkthehunter Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 The DS2 also would've been invincible when completed, so...... Protecting the world from those who have an IQ higher than 30! Huzzah! Trust me...I'm a professional. Some other members and I are trying to be superheroes and save the forums. But we can't do it on our own. We need your help! Nevets Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Just create a special sabotage that has to be researched...
Stellar_Magic Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 OR make both the Death Stars normal units that can be destroyed by mass capital ship assault. Theoretically that would have been possible. I may also be possible to assign the Trench Run Abilty to any Starfighter Squadron through modding thus enabling you to launch a massed starfighter attack, at least on the DS1 anyway. Teradyn_pff Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 This will have to wait until we find out what exactly we are working with. My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
DragonShadow Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Umm, how about we follow the movie, aaaaand: Give the Millennium Falcon (Han and Chewie) hero the ability to destroy the DS (just copy the code from the Red Squadron hero). Throw in Wedge if you're a perfectionist. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Teradyn_pff Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Only problem with that is that when the DSII was completed, it wasn't going to have any holes big enough for an A-Wing to fly into, let alone the Millennium Falcon. DragonShadow Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Good point. What about a lambda shuttle unit that carries an infiltration team in to detonate the thing? Just coming up with ideas here. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
