Apparently they had trouble finding actors. Since when did the Empire have women in the Trooper ranks? There may be a couple of exceptions in the EU for Daala etc. Is there any basis for this?

I don't remeber a source which told that women were not accepted within imperial military ranks. Of course it was hard for women but as we see them appearing again and again I don't think that the Empire is strictly anti-feministic.

Where do you get that information? Where was there ever a female Imperial trooper, officer, etc. other than EU developed years after the original trilogy?

I am not asking for more trivia, I am asking where do statements like this one come from? The books of the first trilogy or EU?

Mh. In the original trilogy we also have no proof that all these stormtroopers and scouts we see are male. In all the three movies we hear about... 5? of them speaking. So there is neither a proof that there were or weren't female Stormtroopers.

Ok its all explained in the maw cluster book, the one where han's in kessel, read the book and you'll understand.

 

But females are not storm troopers, and no storm trooper talks as much as the ones in I.M.P.S. i think the ship phase and scenes were better then the actual ground troops, and the Navy Guards they saw there and the "person fixing the droid" was wrong ranked, and to high to fix a droid so yeah..

Considering the Emperor was an old Sith guy, it's no wonder that women were treated as inferiors. And of course, the Sith have been pretty anti-alien since the get-go. The only exceptions they ever made were in terms of particularly powerful alien Force sensitives.
