How to post Petroglyph FF EAW Feedback (Bug reports)

Recommended Posts

This is not an official operation and it cannot be guaranteed that any developer will see it or if any comments by developers are actually made by real developers. This is not a secure official forum so any information in it cannot be used for any future legal issue. Thank you.

Well, the demo will be out in a week or two, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts both positive and negative. :)

Now - I'm not going to post here tones of infos (see Goggle) about how a tester should be or how it should work. We are not testers just fans - so we will do this testing in a fan way in an effort to find bugs that the devs didn't found or bugs that they know but not fixed but looking at our feedback they may decide to fix.

Here is were it will go depending on what you have to say (*Or you could start a new topic):

-General Positive/Negative Feedback-

http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1878.0

-Crash&Freeze-

http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1786.0

-Functionality&Game Logic-

http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1787.0

-Graphics&Sound-

http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1788.0

The bug/issue report should contain if possible:

-The number of the bug in the topic (ex:#008)

-Patch VersionThe number of the latest EAW patch version you use !

-Repeatability (100% 5/5attemts)

-Platform: Your PC Configuration and what Windows version you use.

-Error Type: Crash (or any other title related to the topic main category)

-Location: in-game, splash screen, when loading mission "x", when exiting the game, etc. Anything that could guide better to the location of the bug in short terms.

-Language: English, French etc

-Description: Very clear comments about the bug and what it looks like - what it does, etc. This is the main description of the bug and it should contain all the important informations about what was happening inside the game when the bug showed up.

-Steps to reproduce: 1. Start the application from start menu-shortcut etc. 2. Select sound OFF etc 3. Use this game configuration in the menus etc. 4. Play until mission "x". 5. At mission "x" this types of units and characters were present, etc.  (Anything goes that can guide us to try to reproduce your bug.)

-Bug Screenshot: Try to take when ever you can a screenshot and make your self an account here http://photobucket.com/ to be able to upload it for free and post it here as [img/img].

This should be all that you have to write if you want to report bugs in a more constructive way.

You Bug report should contain two more notes:

-Status:  (ex:Closed)

-Resolution: (ex:QA: Closed Fixed)

but this will be filled by a moderator or admin.

Thank you all.

Always remember: A clear, well placed and argumented feedback will always stick better into the developers mind and put more pressure on him.

When you are posting a new bug you found or error please take the following steps:

1.) Please, please include steps to reproduce the bug. This helps petro to find the bug faster and fix it. If you cant reproduce the bug again then read on...

2.) Post some screen shots! Use the Print Scrn button on your keyboard then paste the image into paint. And then host it on imageshack or tinypic and then put it on here so we can see.

3.) Please post your system's specs:

CPU

Graphics Card

RAM

..... etc.

These will help us all help you better and faster. Thanks!
