zyph Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 Just purchased Rebellion. On some systems, I try to build a shipyard, but the "checkmark" box is greyed out. I have plenty of refined materials, so I don't know what the problem is. Steep learning curve!
0 Zagadka Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 Hmm. Are you trying to build shipyards on planets you do not own and are you sure you have enough free spaces to build the shipyard? I can't think of any other problems which would make this occur.
0 TK421 Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 Is the system in uprising? Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
0 Guest JediIgor Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 Also if you accidentally chose the destination to be some other system without free spaces, it wouldn't work either. p.s. I like your renderings! Nice DS tutorial, I could never imagine it to be so simple
0 zyph Posted October 20, 2002 Author Posted October 20, 2002 Thanks for all the replies. I do own the system and it is not in uprising. But the free spaces comments might be my problem. Perhaps the system doesn't have enough free spaces. How do I check this? Thanks. Thanks for the compliment about the DS tutorial.
0 Ando Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Just look at the bars under the planets. One indicates how much energy is on the planet and the other shows how much raw materials are present for mining. They also change color as you build on the planet to show how much is left. You can put the cursor over either of the two bars and a white box will appear labeling the bar as either energy or raw materials. It shows two numbers, the first is how many are being used and the second is how many are present. "Raw Materials 6/9" would indicate that the planet already has 6 mines but three more can be built, if there's enough energy left.
0 Admiral-Beef Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 You said you have enough refined minerals, do u also have the maintenence points?
0 zyph Posted October 27, 2002 Author Posted October 27, 2002 Yes, I have enough maintenance points. This game still befuddles me. When I start a new game, the systems that I own can't build new facilities. I have a shipyard on one system, and that can build ships. But I would like to add some defences to that system. Without a construction yard, I can't. I must be missing something obvious...................
0 ElvisMiggell Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Hmmm, you can set the destination of a construction yard to another planet. e.g: construction yard on coruscant can be told to build 3 construction yards to be sent to balmorra. Its in the build menu. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 zyph Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 I assume you're not being blockaded? Right, I'm not blockaded. Has anyone read the Un-official Strategy Guide?: http://www.gameadvice.com/html/StarWarsRebellion-SUtne.htm That talks about setting up your systems and fleets.
0 ElvisMiggell Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 There's a strategy guide?!? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
0 Guest Scathane Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 There's a strategy guide?!?Assuming you're not joking in this rather old message: there's more than one...
0 Trejiuvanat Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 Strategy Guides???? http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
0 Guest Scathane Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 Very good, Trejiuvanat, very good! Who helped you on this one?
0 dude21 Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 I read the full strategy guide and it was helpfull and many questions are answered.I recommend all SW rebellion players to read it "I am growing stronger with the Force"
0 Guest Scathane Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 I must say that's Sutne's is a good guide: good layout and such. i doubt, however, whether it' definitive. Maybe I'll make a compilation of various guides one day...
0 wormie Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Do you really need a strategy guide for this game? Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has, how embarrassing. - Yoda Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying
0 Trejiuvanat Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Thanks for the compliment scath, my pet reashaped-ewok helped in that. I never heard of SWR strategy guides what kind of weird strategies would they suggest.Step One: Try to play as stupid as the AI.Hint:To avoid loss of popular support do not, repeats not, bombard your won planets. HInt:Mon Mothma is not appropritate for sabotage missions. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
0 Guest Scathane Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 What's this??? Although I must admit they aren't really strategy guides, they are very useful documents. But even if they were strategy guides, you guys are saying you don't need them? You're all that good, huh? We hould definitely start playing online again!!!

0 SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted April 8, 2003 SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 8, 2003 Well, I started out playing Rebellion with both the manual and Prima's Strategy Guide.. that way I picked it up much quicker until I didn't need either book. Strategy guides are good when you can learn from them.. not using them as a cheating guide nor becoming dependent on them to win. 0 wormie Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 I only like using strategy guides after i've beaten the once, then I can go back and see what i've missed. 0 Trejiuvanat Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 I only used the manual as help. Reb is a game you can learn pretty fast. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
0 Guest Scathane Posted April 9, 2003 Posted April 9, 2003 Well, I started out playing Rebellion with both the manual and Prima's Strategy Guide... Prima's Strategy Guide? Know where I can find it?
0 SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted April 10, 2003 SWR Staff - Executive Posted April 10, 2003 Don't know if its still in print. Has a listing of all the character and their strengths, all the planets, all the troops, ships, fighters... etc As well, goes into detail on how to play in single player and in multiplayer.
