  1. 1. How will you like your ISD to be ?

    • Like it is now but to be able to carry troops on it too.
      12
    • To be able to spwan unlimited number of TIEs with time spawn restrictions.
      7
    • To be able to carry a limited number of TIEs and like the rest of the fighters and the TIEs to be produced in shypiards.

Imperial fighters are meant to be expendable. And plus, there's a time limit! If anything, it's unfair for the Imperials to have such weak fighters IMO. But that is their main strategy:

Quantity>Quality

I don't think ISDs need to have extensive numbers of troops either. After all, that's what the Acclimators are for, and the Venators.... *sigh* :(

Im wondering if they will have their standard compliment and this special ability, because they did say that they came out of the factory with their TIE Hangers full and it makes sense that it would since its a "special ability" and not something they can use 26/8

The big question that hasn't been answered yet about the SD's tie ability and the AT-AT ability for that matter, is whether or not you can produce new units for as long as the battle occurs, limited only be the timer. This will be a big problem IMO. I am in favor of the SD being able to refill its complement of fighters to a certain maximum (the ammount it can carry). Although this is still silly and not very "realistic" (in terms of the SW universe), it would be better than the prior possibility.

I really wish we could get some more details on this and a few more heated questions being discussed now.

well the power would probably be on at the start of battle

but ya that is a good point, maybe the magically appearing ties are less powerful than the self built ones?

wasn't it stated somewhere that the ISD produces low-level TIE's? Ie weaker than the ones produced elswhere

Ahhhh what was in my head ?!

The number is unlimited if they are destroyed but most probably if they are not they will be a limited number you can produce and keep on that ISD.

I hope this dosent seem like im complaining but the SDs should have a certian number and the venter i know i spelled it wrong should if it was in, should be able to carry a ton or should be able to spawn because thats what its made for but if a ship is going to have a ability to spawn fighters it should be a ventor

Just my 2 cents

yeah I know.... why do people still call it the Imperator?

Because it sounds cooler :P

Back on topic i think the ability to create unlimited number of TIE fighters is weird. I much better prefer Tie Interceptors.

If LEC wants to put a factory in space, why not model in the World Devastators.

I am curious how the long the timer is in relation to how long space battles last. I wouldn't be suprised that the battles never last long enough to get more than a few squads of ties out from the 'unlimited supply'.

man...why does everyone call it the Imperator class SD? Even I with my limited SW knowledge that it was only breifly called the Imperator and renamed to Imperial when the republic became the empire.

yeah I know.... why do people still call it the Imperator?

Off-Topic: Because the Imperator name was the first used name to describe the class as far back as 1978 with the Mandel blueprints. Later second generation games and resource books mistakenly named it the Imperial Class, a mistake that has unfortunatly been stuck firmly in Star Wars literatur until recently. Curtis Saxton, who is running the Star Wars Technical Commentaries site since 1995, has been trying to get the truth out about the true name of the class, aswell as many other details about the Star Wars universe.

Unfortunatly, the best he has been allowed to do is to come up with a way to explain why both names are correct when he wrote the Revenge of the Sith: Incredible Cross Sections book.

And so the history of why the Imperator was renamed Imperial was born. But atleast, I, along with many others, now have propper official backing to justify using it, even though I'd rather see the Imperial-class "fallacy" being removed completely instead. ;)

Other things that has been repeated over and over and over for decades is the lenght of the Executor, which was stated to be only 8 km long, but in reality is 17.6 km long. It too has recently been corrected after years of missleading. But that's a whole nother story. :P

On-Topic: I would rather having to build my Tie's, rather than have it the way it is now. But I'll survive. :)

Im wondering now, if they dont have any fighter carrying space how will bombers arrive on the battlefield?

Because Bombers are mass-produced inside Star Destroyers during the battle, too.
