Ours friends from acitivison sent me a picture of the French box. It's very interesting becausde it's quite diffrent from what we saw on the official website. Slim box, DVD version, but there is still the black/yellow color ... I love it ! ;)

You can view the box there :

I personally don't like the yellow...

And why the Petroglyph Logo is YELLOW ?! Delphi I think you need to make some calls in EU ;)

Btw. the American box is way cooler than ours and I bet we will get a silly small book that will slow down deployment in other countries due to translation waiting.

I'm also confused how come both Activision and EA are in the distribution of this game (at least one in France and the other one in Germany).

Here in Romania we got a private company that has no links to PC games in general and that has the monopoly on original game distribution. I hate them they intentionally slow down the release of the games so people will buy pirate ones. I bet I will play my first EAW as a pirate crap. I hate that slow company I had to wait once 2-3 months for a game :(

BTW guys! One week (*I hope) until the DEMO comes out! Man I have dreams about it. I really want to see how well Delphi designed those maps ;)

Activision has been the official distributor for all LucasArts games in France for 2 years now. Previously, UbiSoft was their distributor.

I don't know about the situation in Germany, but I think that Electronic Arts released Star Wars Galaxies for LucasArts in Japan.

Activision is supposed to be the official distributor for all Europe since Gladius

Welcome to the forums MerLock! Enjoy your stay here and come often. :)

I wish there would be a DVD release also, but at the same price as the CD release. It seems dumb to charge extra money for a game just because it is on 1 DVD instead of 3 CDs. :P Anyway I have don't mind going through 3 CDs for installation and it appears that both the DVD and CD versions come in the same sized box so the space taken up will be about the same as well.

Thanks for the welcome. I do visit often just that I don't really post.

It's not the size of the box that I mind, it's having to insert cd after cd after cd to install the game.

I've seen some games that do this now and they don't charge more. Ie. Sims2 and Everquest2.

Since when was box art an issue? wait never mind I'm sure we can all remember the battlefront boxes that show the TIE advanced, Kit Fisto and other stuff that was never in the game.

I wonder how much it would cost to release both a dvd and cd version of the game. And the dvd box does look a lot thinner than the one I see on eb. But the eb site has a small pic. so it's hard to see.

I think in todays day and age, most pple have a dvd drive. They should start using dvd's as the standard for games that take up more than 2 cd's. It's like when they replaced floppies with cds.
