Look at the fourth picture. A level five space station is huge! Look at the scaling compared to a ISD!

These things are going to be massive ship killing machines! They will be better than a Golan III!

If anyone can get the picture posted here that would be great, but I can't!

If you read it carefully, it's small so it might be hard to see, but it dose say "Relative Scale to Imperial-Class Star Destroyer" so ya that how big it is, though what it's purpose is is beyond me

its a space station and it does say in the new written preview that the larger you build the SPacedock the larger and better crafts you can build

The space station can be compared to the WarCraft series townhalls. If every new step (called tier) the station grows stronger and unveils new technology. In EaW we have (as it seems) 5 tiers. In the beginning (tier 1) you will only be able to build small fighters (like TIE Fighters) and small capital ships like Acclamators. With every step you will be able to build larger ships. (The system should be well known from other RTS'.)

 

And stations are quite well defended. We did not have the time to test that on the Games Convention but from what they told us (me and Junker) the stations can take and deal a lot of damage when on the last tier.

Actually, a Level 5 Space Station can be destroyed instantly.

Go to weapons, "hypervelocity gun". Then you'll see what I mean.

capture the hyper velo gun and destroy with it the space stadion.

invade the planet and build a hyper velo gun

still, they'll need to be wel-protected: what do you think can protect them better? a few of Big Bad Capital Ships or small, fast TIE fighters?or a mix of them?

A couple of Imperials with fully charged "deploy TIE Fighters" abilities. Or surround it with a few heavily armed Space Stations Level 3

lol, good question. Its like the rebellion captured the space around the planet and didnt bother to go down and root out the troops on the surface.

 

"Sir, what about the Imperials still down on the planet?"

"Eh, whatever, forget about them. We're in space, what're they gonna do to us?"
