Stellar_Magic Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Dang.. They used some of the Ground Vehicles from Battlefront in the game already... Plus, it's a good thing when they re-use vehicles/ships because we need less made-up crap.

I really hate the made up crap they are using for this game, its not the fact that I don't like their designs, its just there is a ton of stuff that they could use instead. I wouldn't mind the new stuff if they just put in the stuff that is already established.
Bigedmond Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 But yea, looks like Yoda needs to be put in now too. Why Yoda??? Hes in hiding. Hes not seen until episode 5. Like a fat kid playing dodge ball, im out
Popcorn2008 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 But yea, looks like Yoda needs to be put in now too. Why Yoda??? Hes in hiding. Hes not seen until episode 5.I agree, but this is in the normal Star Wars timeline. Of course, now we know the timeline ends at the battle of yavin so I suppose I dont mind at all, but I think if this is make your own history than you should be able to find Yoda, perhaps with Obi-Wan and bring him outta hiding. But of course this game looks great! And of course, I would prefer to keep this timeline as ex-jedied as possible. Its looking wonderful!!! http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Sergeant Bob Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Also remember that in the normal timeline Obi Wan is hiding out beyond the Dune Sea on Tatooine and only came out of hiding in ANH.

Teradyn_pff Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 On this note, remember that Ben Kenobi didn't even know where Yoda was most likely. He helped Luke find him after he was "made lighter" for faster travel if you get my meaning. He was probably able to pop in to see Yoda as a force ghost would be able to find strong force users with ease. Heh, think about this: Vader gets out of the shower/oil bath, and Obi-Wan pops out of nowhere and shouts "Boo!". Vader curses and has to go take another shower/oil bath. Popcorn2008 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 True, Obi never really knew where Yoda went at least not from what we saw. I never actually thought of that teradyn, good point. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Nevets Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 But yea, looks like Yoda needs to be put in now too. Why Yoda??? Hes in hiding. Hes not seen until episode 5. Yea, but the emperor isn't in episode 4 either and he is in the game. I just think it is weird, yoda hiding or not that if their was a battle on dagobah he would not join the fight.
Guest JediIgor Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Huh, we've seen Palpatine in all episodes but 4, it makes sense to include him .
Nevets Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Huh, we've seen Palpatine in all episodes but 4, it makes sense to include him . same with yoda too.
Popcorn2008 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 ok palpy wans't in hiding in #4 yoda wasDo we have to play by the set star wars history? Will you repeat it or change it, right? I say change it and bring yoda outta hiding early. Obi may not know where he is but.... but..... I do!!!! Teradyn_pff Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Something tells me that Luke becoming a Jedi is how Yoda will become available to the Rebellion. Oh, and since Luke can't become a Jedi in this game... I smell Yoda in an expansion... really... this guy been in a swamp very long time... Phew! My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png

Problem with that is then we probably have to lose Obi-wan, can't we have a star wars game where we truly get to change star wars history and have BOTH Obi-wan and Yoda fight for the rebellion.
Phantom_pff Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Think about this, Yoda never fought for the rebellion, where as Palpatine was the Emperor of the, well, EMPIRE. He lead it and there-for belongs in the game, Yoda just trained Luke, and that was in ep5, so he dose not belong in EaW.

I think it is fairly safe to assume given the chance and a way off the planet he would fight for the rebellion and probably run it (or be a high ranking member) given the oppertunity. I would imagine Obi-Wan would have done the samething if he had not died (being a war general, a jedi, and knowing the leaders of the empire the best). Yoda does fight for the rebellion in Battlefront II as well.
Deadeye31_pff Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 riddle me this: Delphi, why did you guys put in dagobah if you didn't think Yoda should be in the game? I mean, come on, who thinks up this stuff?
EJM Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Think about this, Yoda never fought for the rebellion, where as Palpatine was the Emperor of the, well, EMPIRE. He lead it and there-for belongs in the game, Yoda just trained Luke, and that was in ep5, so he dose not belong in EaW. Remember that the game goes right after EP III, two years before EP IV, and in that time, Yoda was already in Degobah, the case that he appears in EP V, doesn't mean he wasn't on that planet in A new hope, he just was hiding from Palpatine and the empire, sooo, he must be in the game, this should be a question for the Poll... EaW is coming!

The game starts 16 some years after EPIII. At this point Yoda is assumed to be on Dagobah, a deleted EPIII scene shows him going there (which will probably eventually be added to the movie) and it probably happened right after obi-wan and him spilt in the hopes of giving no time to track him down. So yea there is really no reason of having Dagobah that couldn't wait till an expansion. Delphi mentioned something about it being a good hidden base, but really when you go there you want to see Yoda. And I know I mentioned yoda wouldn't put up with imps on his planet, but also if Vader, The Emperor, or Obi-wan were there they would be able to sense him in a heartbeat.
CrushProject Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 he must be in the game? I never saw him fight anyone after episode 3. Like dude said, he only trained luke (which didnt require alot of excersion on his behalf). its a techincality whether or not he was physically alive at this point in the timeline. He was too old for open battle.
Nevets Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 its a techincality whether or not he was physically alive at this point in the timeline. He was too old for open battle. He was 900years old, he was fighting fine for short times during EPIII, I'm sure a couple decades wouldn't hurt him that much. He could still left an x-wing up no problem. His health seemed like it deteriorated fast in EPVI, I would even go as far to say he let himself die, he knew Luke would need a lot of help fighting Vader and the Emperor and he knew the same thing Obi-wan knew...He could become more powerful dead than alive.
EJM Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I understand that Delphi says Yoda is not SEEN in a new hope, and that's the reason he will not make it to the game, at least not now, but that doesn't mean he wasn't in degobah, Just think the sector of Degobah were we will fight isn't the the same where Yoda is... EaW is coming!
Phantom_pff Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 The game starts 16 some years after ANH. At this point Yoda is assumed to be on Dagobah Ya he is on Dagobah, but where do you get "the Game starts 16 some years after ANH"? That would put the game during The Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy, and if you meant 16 years Before ANH, your still wrong, the game starts 2 years prior to ANH and ends with the conclusion of ANH
