Havok9120 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Thought we confirmed 40 planets right? Isnt that right? If so, I think someone (perhaps myself lol) miscounted. I just took the time to count up the planets listed on the new EaW homepage, and to my surprise...I counted 43 lol. Either I miscounted, or our confirmed count of 40 planets didnt count moons...
Naja Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 All counts of 40 planets have said "40+." Indicating that is was generally -around- 40 worlds.
Phantom_pff Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 and yes, there are 43 planest conferemd at this time. I don't know if more may be added, but for now it's 43 and thats a good number, so im happy
Havok9120 Posted November 26, 2005 Author Posted November 26, 2005 Yep, 43 is fine by me. I always thought 40-60 was perfect anyway.
lordstorm88 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I thought that at least a hundred were needed. but this isn't rebellion/supremacy. there are a lot more stuff to do, so 43 are good. (though I'd still prefer more... like 70) but I suppose most of the cds or dvd will be data for the planet and all, so 43x2=86 places. that needs a lot of designing and all...
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 43 is a good number and if were lucky we might get that number up to 50! cause there are a few worlds that arent on the list that should be as they have played a large part in the EU, and deserve to be in the game Like Ossus or Obroa-skai the libary world. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!

Delphi-PG Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 43 sounds about right, I think we had always stated 40+ planets. Delphi-PGGame Designer/Community Rephttp://www.petroglyphgames.com

Wiking_pff Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Probably not very easy, maybe easier if you added already existing maps from other planets to the new ones, but that would just be weird.
Darkmark Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 If you plan to make a planet you'll have to map at least two battlefields bear in mind. That's only if there's only one space and one ground needed. It's probably not hard, but you would need to put a good deal of effort in to get something decent. I wouldn't have thought it's going to be as easy as changing a number in the XML files for example. Ismael Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Will people be able to add new planets easily? Yes / Brett Tosti 5 months ago said (On the LEC Forums) that the devs can add as much planets as they want and that the 40 number is a question of balance. I do expect to see a nice surprise coming from Petroglyph "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" Petroglyph FF Admin.
