When you are invading wher can you keep your fighters, SD's can hold some but not nearly enought for the empires swarm tactic. They need a unit that can hold lots of fighters, unless they all ready have one that we don't know about due to lack of INFO.

Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. :)

Let me see here....Your fleet has to go in hyperspace....Tie Fighters can't.....so they have to be stored in hanger bays!!!! Yay! Whoot! Ding, ding, ding!

P.S. Stop yelling about lack of info!! See the graphics thread, i think i told you enough there!

But in the game it looks like SD's can only hold 3 squads, not enought for the empire if the tie is as pathetic as it should be.

It's not called squads. A squad is an army term for a trooper unit.

Squadron is the correct term, and usually consist of 12 fighters.

But since the fighters aren't in squadrons of 12, they are in 5's(don't know why, 6 seems better) squadron is not the correct termanology. I guess it would be officially called......groups of five! :D

Yeah. TIE Scouts do have hyperdrives. Here is where I found that tidbit of information: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/tie.html#tiesr

As far as whether they will have hyperdrives in EaW, I'd say that it's safe to assume yes. (It would ruin their use if they didn't)

Dork your really starting to get annoying you talk about MegaJames repeating himself. Your starting to become a flamer, you two have issues. Play Nice, I think 1/4 of your posts have been flames. And Guess what there isn't enough info. Back on topic check the unit list to find the info you need. The Empire used carriers to transport their fighters.

But from what I can see there are no fighter carriers for the empire, or the rebels, but they don't need them.

In those cases it's called a Flight-group. :)

As for the TIE-Scout, I wait in anticipation on what use it will have in the game. :)

If they use it as a fighter, then oh my, biiig target for the rebels to shoot at. :D

Heh, 192/12=16 squadrons. :)

In flightgroups, say each one is 4 fighters large, it would result in 48 flight groups per Venator-Class.

Just to get this out of the way, All of you who say there is not enough info out about the game, GET OVER IT, this is marketing, not all the information is given out because they want people to be curious about what is in the game so they buy it, it also has to deal with the legal system, where petro and Lucas are not allowed to revel to much info before the game comes out.

As for Fighter squardens/groups they will dock in the capital ships, ISDs, VSDs, Venators, the DS.

wait wait wait...whats the point of quoting someone if you are going to talk about something of a diffrent topic? :?

and i agree that the fighters should be housed in the biger ships, where else should they be? cept for TIE Scouts, xwings and other hyperdrive snubfighters

I've have you now - Lord Vader

For the Venator I can just imagine the V-Wings coming out in the top front of the ship which would be cool. Maybe it can hold 3 squadrons ?

For Star Destoyers maybe 5? Well thats if the AT-ATs aren't in that Star Destoryer.

well i'm guessing oyu store them on the Star Destoyer then send them out into the land after the battle. Transports aren't capital ships so it should work that way but I aint Petro so I would have to deal with that.

I don't know if this belongs here or in a new topic but if you listen closely to the Star Destroyer video it sort of confirmed that the docking bay will be a targetable hardpoint because in the movie someone lost theirs.

whether this means until it's fixed ships can't dock or you can't launch fighters or possibly even lose docled ones along with the bay is another topic but bays are in so they must have some significance.

maybe some of them are kept in the Death Star, in the official site it states it can contain a very large number of fighters...

well then i'll use half of the squadrons Tie Fighters/Interceptors(if they're added in as decoys and main screen) and the other half bombers to damage ships heavily.
