100% doubt they get that technical with the game. My opinion changed in the past month from a hardcore strategy game with very strategic battles tomore of a arcadish battles with simplistic and basic galactic map. But its starwars and looks awesome so im still waiting for the demo!

Jammers would be good for the reble aliance, they need to sneak around and do hit and run attacks. The impeials would find it hand to counter a hit add run attck if they didn't realise anyone was there.

Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. :)

Wasn't that in SWGB? Why are so many people comparing it to that game...

They wern't in SWGB and the reason they are comparing it to SWGB is it was the most recent SW RTS to date.

Empire at War isn't really an RTS though. Sure it's realtime, and there's strategy.. but it doesn't carry any of the stigma associated with RTSes such as quck 1-2 hour gameplay, resource gathering, micromanaging.. instead it should be classified as something more of a "Grand strategy." Because you are fighting to conquer a galaxy (!), you focus on the big scale of things, not on whether or not your 15 workers are mining the best places.

With that being said, this game seems to resemble Rebellion more and more, and SWGB less and less.

An easier (and funner) way to hide ships would be cloaking devices! (hint hint Petro! :P )

After all, dear 'ol Palpy had a cloaking device hidden in Mount Tantiss, on Wayland... and Wayland is in-game. There are only three worthwhile things on that world: Cloaking device, Cloning vats (bah, do we really need those?) and Joruus C'baoth... who, in a rather indirect way, caused the death of Thrawn. Cloaking devices could work like the other things on ships (I believe I read that you can upgrade individual cap ships with special equipement, such as more turbolasers, more shields... cloaking devices?).

There are also jammers for missiles, as available on Interdictor cruisers, although that doesn't have much in the way of relevance.

Currently waiting to get Age of Empires 3, Dawn of War, and Star Wars: Empire at War

1-2 hours! dude my shortest game was bordering on 4 hours and the average is 5-15 hours. i even played a EE game that lasted 48 hours, duration really dose not play a role in if it's an RTS game or not.

Clocking devices now that gives me an idea.

"Any sign of the impeials?"

"No sir"

POP a huge fleet of star destroyers appear

"Sir we may have a problem"

Empire at war will last for ages, your not going to concur the galaxy in i1 hour.

Cloaking :P Now that is my style instead of brute force :) I never figured out how to cloak Jedi in SWGB, just so I can finally finish my grasp with it tell me how.

Ah yes cloaking for EAW, I wonder if you can actually cloak the Imperial units and if not maybe a mod or at least Rebel ships. Rebels have to hide somehow anyways :P If no cloak then i'll just wait fur Juggers mod and mass produced the Phantom I think it was :)

In SWGB it was a tech you could reserch at the jedi temple call jedi mind trick.

Cloaking would be great, think of the rebels opportunities, hold on thats not good if want to play as thhe imperials at first.

Stupid sneaky rebles.

If its possible to have cloaking devices... I'll mod them in, but they'll be extremely expensive, so expensive that only the empire could afford them.

But the jamer in SWGB was just eye candy. It did not really jam anything.

Yes that is correct, I hope there is none of that in empire at war.

Well the only thing I noticed was a detector to spot where the hero is on the map. I'm glad everything is going to credits because the resource I harvest the most was the one I needed the most...........I didn't need ore, food, or nova but Carbon and I didn't have enough of it even tho I harvested tons of it :( Something that small sure effects your gameplay.

Why would you make it so expensive that the Empire could only afford it? Make it more expensive for the Imps and less for the Rebels, just to help them out.

time to put a box within a box within another box!

put besides spam, i think they need a way to jam LOS or at least cloak thier movements. call it the norm nowadays, star wars canon to the rebs, or a tribute to C&C it has to be in!
