In Rogue Squadron 2 you also saw AT-PTs walking totally underwater, is that possible? Also.. are there AT-PTs in EaW?

They were pre Empire Machines but i am not sure if they are in.

AT-PT are an older design, aren't they? They were still around back when Alderaan was armed, plus they were found to be flawed and never stayed in production for long.

They are older, but apparently see some action still. Blizzard Force had some with them on Hoth (not seen on-screen), as well as A5 Juggernauts. Guess they aren't so "obsolete" as described before.

At-PT's were also all over the place in RS:1 and were seen in a couple of levels of RS:2 so they were far from "obsolete".

Just because something is obsolete doesn't mean they'll phase it out right away... Acclamators were used all the way in the Battle for Yuuzhan'tar/Coruscant and they've been obsolete for decades .

I think you're mis-using the word 'obsolete'. It doesn't apply to things that are old yet still relevant. The ''Acclamator'' was a military transport unequalled in the Republic and remained so for a long time in the Empire.

 

I don't know the situation around the Yuuzhan Vong War, but they weren't automatically 'obsolete' in the OT-era just because they were old.
