Rebellion had a pop cap aswell, but it was ruled by how many maintainance point you had, which could be raised the more mines and refineries you placed on planets. 1 mine and 1 refinery equaled 50 maintainance point, but there needed to be in pairs.

Each planet could only support a certain amount of refineries and mines though, up to 14, and that included other buildings such as shields, guns, and construction buildings.

as for wahat alot of people have said, i think the pop cap will be limited.

but only by how many planets you have, im not going to give out lots of numbers, but you could have 1000 ATATs with 50 controlled planets, but it would be impossibke for taht many atats under your control with just 1 planet.

Let's just clarify something:

Does the pop-cap just limit the amount of units that can be ON SCREEN?

Or does it limit the amount of forces you can have OVERALL, throughout the galaxy?

I hate population caps! (unless they are so high that you would never reach it)

Oh, and there was a pop cap in C&C, we just didn't tell ya about it.

You sure? I was playing a game with Hard Computer GLA and he built up his entire space with units and lagged the game to a stop

poo i was hopeing that we could have unlimited units but i guess your right that it isnt fair for the little guys...

The little guys can have their pop cap limit, but that shouldn't hinder the higher end computers!

And any multiplayer game would have to have a limit set to allow the lower-end computer involved to play. Single player should only matter on the computer it is being played on.

Delphi said the pop. cap is hardly noticeable. Stop worrying about it! Relax! Episode III comes out tomorrow. Watch it 10 times in the same day! (not sure if that is possible...I think....wait I don't....but 7 or 8 might be possible)

At the moment we have no Idea as to the overall Pop Cap. It will probably depend on the number and type of planet you command.
