Since these shows most likely will feature plenty of action and battles and little in the way of cheesy romance, I don't see any problems. =)

Hell, the battles in CW alone will probably showcase enough AFVs to keep me drooling (here's to TX-130S fighter tanks and AT-XTs making it in!)

In my personal opinion, they should expand the game all the way to around 20 ABY, tech-wise. The way progression could be handled seems simple enough for me: beef numbers. Sure, your Death Star might be fun... but compared to that Sun Crusher, pshh, it's no good. Like your Y-wing? That's nice... but the E-wing has 175% the firepower and durability. Obviously, the older ones would be cheaper too, so if you were desperate, well, you could dig up some relics. To compensate, techs could be developped to increase planetary income, so that you may field an equal amount of the newer ships (but balance it so that the prive/power ratios tip in the favor of the newer ships!).

However, that may not be possible. Another way to do it would be to simply have different selectable eras - Clone Wars, Civil War, and Vong Invasion; others might also work.

Currently waiting to get Age of Empires 3, Dawn of War, and Star Wars: Empire at War

I like the sound of the Eras thing, maybe the mods will figure a way to mod that in when the game comes out, maybe have the eras like so (if there was this many mods) and have them to select from on the main menu screen.

Sith Wars

Clone Wars

A New Hope Era

Empire Strikes Back Era

Return Of The Jedi Era

New Republic Era

I strike again!

Thinking about it, I wouldn't mind a clone wars expansion pack. I think it would be cool if you could choose either Galactic Civil War campaign or Clone Wars campaign.

And then besides getting the new campaign it would be cool if they also added content to the GCW as well.

People wanted Star Wars to continue so it is so blame it on us fans 8)

I'm a star wars fan and i don't want it to continue...Star wars is going to turn out like star trek...to much of it and it will die out.

Back to the topic at hand...On main thing about mods...delphi said...mods are not officially supported...one thing i want in and expansion is the option to play though out the entire timeline line...no stoping to change timelines...one continoues story line...though each major timeline(clonewars, Galactic Civil War) it could work as your a general and at each major timeline change you get to choose which side to support...onther feature would be able to defect.

Or they could do a expansion for the Great Sith Wars...theres not to much out on that part of the story line.

star wars will die

accept it

but if you had control on a definate multi-TRILLION franchise, you want the money to be raking in. and we wll buy, and it better be good or they lose a customer which maens a loss of maybe 1000 dollars at most (if i bought all the books, games, toys etc) they are just makiing a buisness, its entertainment, a fun way to leave your cubicle and to some people it is more and to some it is less. they care about staying alive and thriving, not about stroyline

thier loss

I've have you now - Lord Vader

its not that they don't support mods...its just they are not official...so they arn't supported in the technical stance...you have have a problem your on your own...not that the mod has a community that could help you.

The Mod community is vast and we all support each other. From The Imperial Assault 2 Mod to Legacy of War and Only War II. Each of them all assist each other and lend support to a common cause. Making a kickass Mod!!

This is true. There are a huge bunch of people eyeing this game. If you look at all the great mods for so many games out there to Star Wars, you can imagine the talent being brought to bear on this game if only 1/4th of those people know about it. Heck, there was even a Star Wars mod someone almost finished for Starcraft!

My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!

Almost. I see that in a lot of mods... They almost get done. Many are very playable, they just lack polish which can be annoying if any bugs are over-looked on the last beta.

Activision is not making a new Star Trek Game. That is fact. A Mod has been created which is in effect Star Trek Armada 3. Armada 2.5 is already out as a Mod in Beta and final form. 3 has dissapeared.

It just grates me that if/when I buy EAW that I will be contributing further to this madness. There is no good answer.

Would you rather have no more new Star Wars products at all? That's the only way the "madness" would end. What's so bad about Lucas trying to make more money? There is obviously still a market for Star Wars products so why is LucasArts providing those products "madness"? No one forces us to buy Star Wars games, toys, movies etc. We all choose to and when we do we risk the chance that the product will disappoint and we will consider our money wasted. That's the way it is, period.

Okay so Lucas is milking a cash cow he introduced in 1977, so what! Wouldn't you? Say you came up with a Science Fiction franchise that gathers new fans every year and almost thirty years later is still going strong? You would be an idiot not to recognize the potential money you can make from it. I seriously doubt that anyone would not take advantage of such a lucrative opportunity as Star Wars. We'll never know obviously, since Lucas thought it up, but I think he is only doing what any businessman with a succesful franchise would do. To attack him for that is ridiculous since we would most likely do that exact same thing in his shoes.

Only thing I would have done different is I would of made EPI and EPII better so I could have gotten even more money!

You mean in EaW2?

Not likely.

I heard rumors it's going to take place more arond the Clone Wars period. ;)

Hmmm, lots of room there to mess with continuity. Anyone feel cheated out of seeing the Clone Wars? I know I didn't envision the money-grubbing, hollywood mold crap that we got shovelled when Obiwan was telling luke about his father being a jedi knight fighting in the clone wars in ANH.

Arg..... /rant protection engaged shutting response dowwwwwwwnnnnn...

That is why Lucas is coming out with a half hour TV show series all in CGI called the Clone Wars. That way he can milk more out of us fans! (along with the Live action one that looks to be about Boba Fett)

I think you forgot to mention hurting the SW reputation. I hate when they try to squeeze every last drop of money they can out of a good thing. It somehow makes things seem bad. :(

OK. With an expansion like the Legacy Mod we will see more ships, In Only War II we see a Warhammer 40,000 conversion.

With all of these mods. Why isn't someone making these games using the EAW Engine?

I agree with you there, Lucas could have done a much better job.

I think what would be great for an expansion is introducing the Yuzzhan Vong (I forget how they're spelled). Since bringing the timeline from ANH to ROTJ doesn't do enough in terms of units, then how about bringing in the Vong? There is a wealth of new units and heroes that can be brought into the game, and it would certainly have plenty of intrest from the fans.
