Okay...because of the recent post by Delphi-BG with the fact that the SSD appears to late in the technological timeline, but not the A-wing.

What is the timeline for the game...i thought it was supposed to go through Ep 6?

Let's all calm down people. Yes the SSD thing caused almost an uproar, but we need to move on. Let this bring us together, not farther apart. Now as far as the timeline goes, the A-Wing was developed right after Yavin, so it's possible that it was close enough on the tail of Yavin to be included. The SSD (which is going to be modded in) is kind of later after Yavin than A-Wings (not exactly sure on this), plus there is really no need for an SSD. Sure it would be cool, but I trust Petroglyph and any reasons they may have to put certain units in and keeping others out. One unit will not make or break the game for me.

Its not that they are keeping out units, it is that instead of using these units not in, they are making up units (Broadside). I would rather see Star Wars ships then made up ones.

I agree with you. Instead of the broadside they may have used the Carrack Cruiser instead, but as I said I trust Petroglyph to do the game right. Any units that may be "missing" from the game will be modded in.

to claarify on the timeline it starts before ep 4 with late clone war tech and moves up until you have researched everything, to note though, since the timeline is ALTERABLE dont think of the game according to episodes 4-6, it just starts after ep 4 and goes, you can make up your own episodes! kill luke off the bat! convince yoda to the dark side and etc.

"The first four Executor-class ships were constructed in the months following the Battle of Yavin and the destruction of the first Death Star. Before the Battle of Yavin Imperial Navy engineer Lira Wessex designed these sleek, dark, immense vessels to inspire dread in any possible opponent."

"The Alliance brain trust of General Jan Dodonna and engineer Walex Blissex developed the A-wing starfighter after examining the role of speed in the Battle of Yavin and the sleek fighters developed by the Tamuuz-an. The top-secret result of their experimentation was the A-wing, the fastest vessel of the Galactic Civil War. "

"Although the Interceptor only made its appearence in Return of the Jedi, the Star Wars Sourcebook (for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game) has stated that the Interceptor has existed at the time of the Battle of Yavin, where Imperial Star Destroyer's 6 TIE squadrons was a squadron of Interceptors (4 squadrons of standard TIE Fighters, 1 squadron of TIE bombers)."

“The first hastily-converted MC80 star cruiser appeared shortly before the Battle of Yavin. Soon, many of these vessels were in service with the Rebel Alliance, providing a much-needed boost in military power.â€

To clarify my question i prolly should have said Technological Timeline. So using the movies as the timeline how far into the movies technology will be able to progress. So will be able to get the technology eg: ships, fighters, units, etc past a certain point Movies Technological timeline?

Hmm well EU theres things we never saw so maybe there was things just being produced but saw action in different parts of the galaxy the Imperials controled ? I dont mean EU as in after episode 6 but EU during episode 3-4ish. You know prototypes to actual vehicles that saw combat for whatever reason. So my guess is that all these made ups and realy ones saw action somewhere else beside movie spots.

Well, since the SSD is out, I guess we can write off the ISD mkII aswell, since that one is an even later design change than the Executor. Atleast a year BBY.

The reason why the A-Wings etc are probably in the screenshots, is just to showcase some of the ships to the media and fans.

For example, they placed a Rancor on Tatooine, just to show its use in the game. I would imagine the time line would have the A-Wing as a late developement unit

Remember, there might be another reason why they stuck a Rancor on Tatooine. They did indicate they are under the impression that it's indigenous to Tatooine.

Krayt Dragons are indigenous to Tatooine, Rancors are indigenous to Dathomir.

I hope you're right though, DMUK. Even SWG got this fact right. :D

That sucks. Its a really short game then Crying or Very sad

Not really, the game does take place 3-4 years before EP 4 and ends at EP 4. We've added a lot of stuff and fiction to keep fans happy. =) Though it is one of many missions, aquiring X-wing technology is pretty darn cool. =P

Man, I better stop with the info before I get a whip too the back.[/i]
