Sorry to say, the Tie Defender is not equipped with Proton Torpedoes... It has concussion missile tubes but no torps.

As far as I know every starfighters missile launcher might be refittet for use with all types of starfighter-size missiles (as seen in all SW related space combat simulations) so the defender could easily be changed to use some torpedos instead of concussion missiles.

But after all it could be that the Tie Defender isn't in the game at all or might only be researched close to the end of the campaign because the defender got into production shortly before the battle of endor and so at the end of the EaW timeline. Additionaly the Tie Defender never was produced in great numbers. It was much to expensive and the emperor used to concentrate his ressources on rebuildung the TIE MKII factorys that Zaarins forces destroyed...

Samheyn is correct with his explanation. All of the Arkryd Warhead launchers can be refitted to fire a number of different weapons. That is how the Y-wings can use so many different weapons and why they are such a versatile fighter-bomber.

This is Lucasarts we're talking about. The ability to save some stuff back for the full game is too good to pass up for them, be it heroes, planets, units, that kind of thing.

I bet the demo is only going to be the equivilent to a sneak preview, having only a fraction of the units etc on display. It just seems consistent knowing how Lucasarts deal with these things. To be honest I'm surprised there's a demo at all.

They must have a good deal of control over them. I mean, Petroglyph are not allowed to release new info without the O.K. from Lucasarts, so my point is still valid. :?

I'm worrying about the total number of units still :? Remember when they promised BFME would have 18 units per side? What did we get, around six each?

We'll probably get a decent number of units. This isn't EA we're dealing with. I'm sure Petroglyph have done their best putting as many units in game as possible. Consider what we've seen already per team, that's got to be more than BFME has, even at these stages where we aren't seeing everything Petro has up their sleeves.

I dont think the game stops at Endor, it really doesnt stop anywhere. It starts b/w then End of EPIII and the Beggining of EPIV, i grow tired of sying this, perhaps this should go into the faq...
