The ESB Bounty Hunters

I just wondered about the bounty hunters. I mean, we can expect Boba to side with the empire over the rebel scum, but what are other people's opinions of the others we see in EP5? I just figure since they sign up for the bounty on Han in EP5, that there's always the chance they are Imperial based heroes, but they don't really fit that perfectly. Neither do they really fit the rebel cause. I expect them to be in game, because as characters they're interesting and mildly important to the storyline, but how and who for I don't know.

From what I recall, Zuckuss and 4LOM ended up with the rebels in the end, the IG-88s were all destroyed and seemed to work for themselves anyway, and Dengar seems an equal candidate for either side. So quite where they'd go, should they be in game, is a little of a mystery to me. Any ideas?

I expect to see several bounty hunters in as heroes. Dengar and Bossk (who also has a space ship called the Hound's Tooth) I think could be in the game. Also maybe even Greedo could make it in.

Something I also find interesting is in this pic:

all the empire's heroes have a red background, except one, boba fett. Could this mean that Boba does not belong to one side? Could he go to the side that can aford himt? Will other bounty hunters work this way?

I hadn't noticed that. It does raise the question about hired heroes. From what I recall the heroes for the rebels had green backgrounds very much in contrast to the imperial ones, so they aren't rebel, that's for sure.

Greedo I had the same feeling we'd see as these bounbty hunter guys, but since he was working for Jabba in the films and these guys for Vader I figured there was more chance of them having a definate side... If they're hireable though, that does change matters.

Also, I can't believe I forgot to mention Bossk... Doh.

That's a very good point, actually. It might just be a glitch, but it makes sense that bounty hunters would have no real ideological loyalty to either side; simply the one that pays the most. This obviously, would make the Empire the natural employer, at least until when/if the Rebels gained economic dominance.

However, I remember a Petroglyph dude mentioning bounty hunters only glancingly in an interview, as the Empire's counter to the Rebel's espionage network. Since the Rebels can prettymuch see every major Imperial installation, know about every Imperial construction operation, and prepare for every Imperial fleet movement, it would seem only fair to give the Imps some sort of remedy.

What part the bounty hunters would play remains a mystery. I doubt that there's going to be hero-capturing like there was in SW: Rebellion, so I assume that killing (or at least disabling) is the name of the game. The best guess I can give is that bounty hunters would provide a bonus against other heroes in combat (space or ground), and perhaps detect cloaked espionage units like Han & Chewie.

AN IDEA BY FOSH:

Some smugglers/ Pirates will only be for the Empire- IG88 and Greedo. Others can be hired by either side and payed to find characters and try to capture them. Therefore Han Solo and Chewie can be on either side initially then join the Rebels at a certain point.

What about Fett? Didn't he help the Rebels in one of the books? I remember from the Han Solo Trilogy, that he isn't that bad of a person. Or in the Unifying Force when he helps the Galactic Alliance. What about Dash Rendar of Talon Karrde? Both the Outrider and Wild Karrde are awesome! :D

Naw Fett wasn't bad. He was a mercenary who worked for you if you had enough money. He worked for the empire because they paid him to hunt Han Solo, not because he wanted to (although not necessarily true because there already was another bounty on Solo's head put by Jabba). Either way it all comes down to money.

I always thought Fett had Empire sympathies. I'm pretty sure he had worked for the Imperials on many other occasions before the Han hunt in EP5... true it was mainly to do with the money, but I couldn't see him going to join the Rebels unless the sum was vast.

Like I said elsewhere, I always considered him an Imperial sympathiser just as Kyle and Dash (and other mercs similar to them) were for the rebellion. Considering what the Jango story in EP2 gave us, I can understand entirely why Boba would be biased against the Jedi and their rebel cause.

Fett wasn't a friend or a foe of the Empire he was only an enemy of the Jedi. He went to the person with the most $$$. He however hated the Jedi because of the events of ATOC.

With Luke on the rebel side, that logically means that he wouldn't support him or 'his' rebellion... which means he wouldn't be heartbroken should the Empire wipe out them out... all of them. Hence Imperial sympathies.

The other bounty hunters didn't though from what I recall. They were just in it for the moolah... and one (I can't remebmber which) just got caught in the right place at the right time.

Did Boba Fett work for the Rebel Alliance (or New Republic) in one book?

(not counting helping the Galactic Allaince in the Unifying Force)

That can be arranged...

But seriously, Boba aside who are we likely to see like the already mentioned 'Hero' bounty hunters?
