Help with signature...

Hi guys, how do i attach a .swf animation (flash) to my signature? Its a very small file only 6kb and its on my photobucket account I think theres a link in my signature now. Thanks!

How have you got it now? I would guess it would have to be in the img brackets, but not knowing what you've got now it's hard to say whether that works or not. .swf isn't a format I know a lot about, but if it's anything like a .gif the image brackets should allow you to display it.

I tried that brackets but they dont work, ive tried alot of things the only other thing i can think of is to write a full fledged html code into the signature but i dont know how to link it to the photobucket site.

I think HTML is diabled in signatures so there is no way showing a swf file, except converting it into a animated .gif image.

And the problem with that is that it cannot retrieve the time and date. Oh well i guess we'll just have to click the link, although seeing so many days on there is so depressing!

I don't know about you, but it will be more depressing the closer we get to the date. That unbearable waiting where you know there are only 20 days left... I'm sure to be clicking on that link constantly at that point just to watch it tick down to 0.

Lol yeah! Escpecially since it hits 0 at midnight so you know you have to wait until the next morrning/day to get it! I hear insomnia calling!

 

Also is it Feb 6th or 7th? Ive seen both.

I've always thought 7th. That's the word from the official LEC site.

 

But is the release date the same all over the world? Usually the US gets games a couple of days ealier than the UK does. I was wondering if this will be the same, or if it's one of those rare cases where it's released for everyone on the same day.

Ill have to adjust mine for feb 7th, i made mine in flash, so maybe ill upgrade the graphics a little and make them mroe appealing like 3d or something.

I dont have any programming programs except for Pascal but i'm not wasting my time on that. Plus my patience is low Were can I find flash ?

You can get a demo of flash but you actualy have to buy the program and it costs a fortune! Luckily my cousin is a graphic design person or something and shes got all sorts of programs and she gave me the flash 5 since the new flash mx is out. Its a pretty amazing program, only 8megs and it can do so much, its also fun and easy to use (once you read a book or a few tutorials). Try out a demo it lasts for 30 days i think, and if you undestand tweening, keyframes, etc. youll be set. I made the timer and my avatar with it. I made a sweeter avatar but it took up too much memory to put on this site.

If you can point out any good tutorials for us that can be useful. I've had flash 5 on my cpu for ages now and every time I try to use it I end up with very little to show for it.

 

Any tutorials I've found (admittedly didn't look around a lot for any) didn't really help me much that's all, so a decent one would be good for me to look at.

Ill look around for some good online ones, i started the basics with online stuff but really learned alot more by reading books (actually only 2) and i feel i am pretty well learned in the subject. I dont have Flash MX unfortunately and it seems like 5 is fading and mx is blooming, but ill search my hardest and evaluate them to find some good ones. A good way to start is just by messing around with the program and see what you can do.

 

EDIT: I cant find the tutorial i started with but i remember it well enough to to make my own version of it. Ill start on it now and post up where to find it when its finished it wont take long. In the meantime goto Help>>Tutorials in Flash 5 and progress through the list.

Don't worry about it too much. I figured you'd just know where one was that's all. You don't have to go to the effort of making one. In all reality it should be me going looking for good one I like.
