Hi everyone, I wanted to thank yall for recruiting me to the forum team Let me know when there is something I can do to pitch in!

 

A little about me: I'm a full time collage student working on my masters while holding a part time at a local (New Orleans) Gamestop. As for as video games, I mostly play sports games, RPG's and strategy games, Rome Total War, Hearts of Iron, and Jade Empire occupy most of my gaming time right now. In regards to Star Wars, I own just about all the PC games, the original x-wing vs. tie fighter, Rebellion, Jedi Knight and Knights of the old republic being my favorites. I doubt that I am as up to speed on the lore as the rest of you but I think I have a good understanding of the universe. If there is anything else, just ask.

hello and nice to meet you Only game on that list I have is KOTOR and Rome Total War, I'm still on Dantooine progressing slowly since its being annoying. That murder case got on my nerves.

 

and I like Rome Total War but it just takes forever to get my generals from my home town to outer places I control so my battles are slowing.

sup, heh you play Hearts of Iron too, i played that for awhile. i haven't had the chance to get HoI2, is it good?

Ghostly, I know how you feel with Rome Total War. I gave up on the vanilla version a long time ago. If you want to breathe new life into it there are a couple of great mods out there. Check out http://www.rometotalrealism.com/ for one of the best. As for Kotor, stick with it, the game gets a hell of a lot better once you get off Dantooine, especially if you go to the dark side

 

ELeMeNTz, In some ways Hoi2 is better than Hoi and in some ways it is worse. I really like the improved diplomacy, land combat, and AI. However, I don't like the low resolution of the map, the lack of game sprites, and the air war. I think once the mod community kicks into high gear it will be worth buying.

 

So what games do you guys play?

well, me and polovnik play hw2 warlords mod (a star wars mod) together. We play Rise of Nations aswell, and soon Battlefield 2

we dont play homeworld 2 mod but soon will. Rise of Nations got boring and my damn team in multiplayer in Rome Total War finally chickened out since Element here spreads fear to easily. Wonder what will happen in EAW if fear will actually scare off units in that game. That will be annoying.

lol, well so many good games, so much time. Metal Gear Solid 3 subistence seems like a good ps2 game to play offline and online

 

Hmm well Gladiators in Rome Total War are my fav units since they look like spies and are dangerous

they are Rome's secret police force aka in modern times as the Gestapo was for the Nazi's.

who cares how accurate I have to be with naming. I'll call them Gladiators since they been trained in that area. Spy like style is sweet.

Nah, Elephents are way to overpowered in the game. I mean cave men killed mamoths with a couple of thrown spears, hows a phalanx going to perform? I modded mine so they're less difficult to eliminate. I've found its much more effective to use massed cavalry then to use elephants.

i agree, especially those gothic cavalry of the germans. mass cavalry agaisnt gauls or romans and flank. then hit in middle when they turn attention towards covering flanks. break right through ^^

 

i wouldn't dare fight with cavalry against chariots tho
