Propably found a vid which shows one of these objects in the Hudson Valley-vid:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF9Ft7j1eqw&feature=related

Just look at its lights. It also makes a jetlike sound, but I cant see any jet propulsions.

Last thursday it seemed that one amazings news hunted the other. First the news about hydrocarbonate liquids on the Saturn moon Titan:

http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.cfm

And right after that the news about ... tata(!) ... water on Mars:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25954096

And it could be that we may get some more incredible news in the next months:

http://www.universetoday.com/2008/08/02/the-white-house-is-briefed-phoenix-about-to-announce-potential-for-life-on-mars/

Its interesting. Maybe youve heard about it back in april when William Shatner, Cpt. Kirk, claimed to have heard that soon we will get some news about Mars:

http://trekmovie.com/2008/04/09/shatner-claims-to-know-about-life-on-mars/

Kirk knew it all.

Well just an example that we all are on the bottomline when it comes to tell us some news. :?

LLF I completely see where youre coming from. If I wouldnt have had observed some unknown objects myself I also wouldnt believe those UFO stories at all. My parents also didnt until they saw one by themselfs as they were taking a walk outside back in the early 90s. It was earthshaking for them, which is for everyone who sees something like that for the first time. I have to add that my city is near an airport and planes of all sorts and sizes are coming and going, so people around here know to differ which is a plane and which is not.

Wow Eagle, you've beaten me here. I wanted to post about Nasa aswell. That is why I wrote that "we have a lot going in astronomy"

Just a little expansion, that is really interesting for all of us:

NASA scheduled missions:

http://www.nasa.gov/missions/highlights/schedule.html

One of the most important missions (as I already wrote before):

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/shuttlemissions/hst_sm4/index.html

Abd to be exactly on topic this time, the Kepler mission (!):

http://kepler.nasa.gov/

I've also read about the Cassini mission. Saturn is my absolute favourite planet (fits with my zodiac too 8) )

It's still a very hot topic, next target is Titan and then Enceladus. Both have great potentials

Its getting a bit weird about what NASA has to say about Mars. What they confirm and not confirm. First they made a press-conference announcing that frozen water has been found, than on the weekend they even have a meeting with G.W. to brief him about some further discoveries theyd made and after that on tuesday they claim that Mars would even be less inhabitable as they first thought. Even the briefing has been denied. Than some come forward and telling that this toxic ground maybe isnt too bad at all. Back and forward, back and forward.

The russians sense a plot:

My point is either youve discovered something or you havent. If you havent than there wouldnt be any use of making an official press-conference to announce the world that youve found something important. Maybe the Bush administration told them something like that: "Nooo! Why are you telling such kind of things??? Now the people want us going up there. We cant afford that anymore!!!!" Those NASA guys are professionals and know about what they are talking. They arent noobs at all. So this is a very strange acting.

I think they are uncertain what they really found. Some say, the stuff they got back in the labs is something that has been taken there by our equipment or so.

Even if not, the amount of it is simply to small to make a bold statement about Mars in general. I guess they will clear things up in the future. I sure hope there is no plot behind it.

Cassini has found a lake on Titan!

Umm... okay, I didn't see the poll before, and haven't kept up with this topic, but I'm the second person to say that I've seen a UFO. It wasn't exactly a UFO, per se, so much as an odd... well, second sun, to tell the truth. It was late afternoon, and I was driving home from a friend's house. The sun sets on my left hand side as I drive home, so when I first saw the second sun thing I didn't think anything of it... before I noticed that it didn't hurt to look at it, and that it was sunset.

Whatever that thing was, it seemed like it was pacing me as I drove home. I mean, it was potentially in space or something, so it wasn't really pacing me, but that was the feeling I got... it was pretty weird.

Hm, so where did that "second sun" appear? Also in the west? It sounds pretty much like youve seen Venus, which can be seen very early at a clear sky and is the second brightest object in the sky after the Moon or in that case the Sun. Or have you seen it moving? Thats the best indicator you can have when you dont know what you are observing. Is it flying incredible manoeuvers in incredible speed, changing direction and heigth fe, or is it flying very low so you have a good look at it? If thats the case you mostly have seen something which isnt a star or the ISS.

Kugelblitz = ball lightning?

Got to add something. I dont want to rule it out that you saw something, Tofu. Maybe you can describe it a bit more. Im the last one you can call a sceptic here. ;)

lol- I'm among the first, though not for UFOs. It was decidedly not a star of any sort, and I don't think it could have been a reflection. My window was down, and the thing was pretty big. It was probably around one fourth again the diameter of a new moon. I got the impression that it was following me, but this was over a year ago, so I don't remember very clearly, unfortunately.

I remember losing it when I got home, though, which was odd. I was heading south, and it was on my left, so that would place it in the East, I guess. It certainly looked like a second sun, that much I remember. It was too big to be a planet out in space, though.

Yes, I do, about an hour's drive south of the space center. And I've seen shuttles, satellites, etc. launch before. They go up with tiny, roughly dime-sized flares of fire in the sky from a viewer's perspective. They leave behind a large trail of white smoke due to their hydrogen-and-oxygen-reaction fuel, and they really don't look much of anything like what I saw.

It was big, about the size of your fist held at arm's length from a viewer's perspective. There was no trail to it at all.

The other possibility, I suppose, is Patrick Air Force Base. I don't know too much about their operations, though I've been on base plenty of times (I have military in the family- it's where we get all of our foodstuff). What I've seen has been pretty laid back, with no exceptionally strenuous duty or special attention to cutting edge technology. Most of the buildings look like I imagine they did when the place was first built, both on the inside and on the outside. It might have been something from the base, though. I know Air Force planes have caused UFO reportings and the like before...

Well that sounds pretty different for me than. I didnt wanted to rule it out. Its just because lots of sightings have a natural reason like fe. baloons, planes, Venus and, yes, the Moon. It also could have been a flare, which is one of the most popular explanation nowadays given from the authorities. ;) Ive heard of cases where military jets have been watched dropping flares after UFO sightings so they can dismiss it as an military excersice. One famous example is the so called "Phoenix Lights"-incident. After thousands of people saw a huge craft hovering over their city, military jets came in after the UFO disappeared and dropped flares to tell those people that they only watched some flares. The former governor of Arizona saw it by himself. At that time he also ridiculed the incident to dont cause no panic and now you can find him on the forefront of those who try to get answers. Google by yourself.

Was it something like that, Tofu?

O, I didn't mean anything by it... There being a space center as well as an air force base might just well make real UFO sightings more likely...

lol- sorry if I snapped a bit. That's just part of the reason I kept it to myself for about a year that I'd seen a UFO. I remember that there was a similar incident in both Numerberg and Hamburg Germany in the fifteen and sixteen hundreds, each event about a century apart from the other. There are a few famous woodcuts of the events. While the ones I found feature black spheres, I remember reading about one that featured red and yellow spheres- I think it was in Italy, but I'm not sure.

Seeing as these are woodcuts, there's really no way to be sure what the deal was with that. And I remembered to mention that the second sun I saw was not, as I'd originally said, in the west, but was, in fact, in the east, right?

And no, it wasn't quite like what you have there, Eagle. Those are far too tiny to have been what I saw, and the light is off. Where mine seemed a very solid, stable, "burnt" shade of orangish-yellow, those UFOs are rather neon-ish in their bright, shifting colors. Good find, though.

Oh, yeah. The same seemed to have happened also here over Basel. Ive also seen a woodcut about that. If I do find that pic again, Ill post it here.

For those who think that former astronaut Edgar Mitchell is the only guy who ever talked about aliens and UFO, watch this:

Former Gemini astronaut Gordon Cooper tells about UFOs he has encountered while flying for the US Air Force in the 50s:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5yBFga-wto

Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 2nd man on the moon, talks about their UFO encounter while travelling to the moon:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np45b2Xt-Ww&NR=1

Neil Armstrong or Micheal Collins prefered to stay calm obout that subject.

Theres also a NASA employee who was involved in the Apollo and the Space Shuttles program which recently came forward, but I refuse to post his claims because he begged for sending him money, because they took away his pension because he talked too much about what hes seen. I dont know what I shall think about that yet.

This is the video of an official press conference of the "Disclosure Project" an organisation which aim it is to force our administrations and our secret services to finally disclose the evidences about extraterestrial existence and visitations here on earth. In this press conference you will hear testimonies of people who were former members of the Army, Air Force, Navy, secret services, former Pilots, FAA-Operators and the former assistant of the late Wernher von Braun, developer of the V2-rocket and leader of the Apollo-program. All were/are ready to testify under oath before congress and asked for such a hearing. This press conference has been held in spring 2001 and since than nothing happened as you all know.

BTW ignore the announcer right at the beginning. You will surely know why I say that right after you have started to watch the vid. :?

This here is a follow up conference which has been held last november in 2007. Moderated by former governour of Arizona Fife Symington who back in 1997 tried to ridicule the incident of the so called "Phoenix Lights" which he indeed wittnessed by himself. Now after he isnt an active politician anymore he also steps forward to research that incident and to force the authorities for disclosure.

I'm suprised, that nobody here mentioned this:

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2008/08/23/5404_ntnews.html

It was even in hungarian news. I guess it will boost tourism in Northern Australia pretty well. Krytos, you have any update on the invasion? :)

There were rumors, that Discovery Channel is sending teams there to get some shots

Invasion? There is no invasion and nothing to see here in Australia. It is bland and boring and barren. Please, ignore us - nothing to see here. Those spires on the horizon are irrelevant, as are the lights in the sky.

Look over there, yes at America - another hick has spotted a REAL alien. Nothing here.

I think that worked.

He's been infected by the Borg! Aaaaaaaaaaaa! They're going to turn his orange sphere into a Green Borg Cube!
