piojitoewok Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 i have a hunch as to how to increase the amount of characters/ships/fighters but i would need to look into the DAT files, does anyone know a program that will read these?? If i had a nickel for everytime i listened to you, I'd be in debt.

the_mask Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 Hex Editor would be good, I use Ultra Edit for example. We had a hunch in that direction, too. But you'd have to add too many references, since the chars for example are not only in the DAT files, they're also referenced in some of the dlls. The numbers in the dlls don't have that many space inbetween, where you could paste new entries and I just don't know if it would still work in the game, if you'd append the new entries.
