Live action in Hungary again

If you have time, check CNN or BBC or any others in the following few days. It started again, some faggots making a warzone of our beloved Budapest.

So get you popcorn mates (if you have some sat connetion with hungarian tv on it, even better!) Great show.

The police will wash them away again I guess.

We have a lot of nationalists here who believe in pretty occult (hungarian blood is prior) stuff and want to start a really massive revolution, so it may get even more drastic then last year was!

Radicalsim is taking over my little country too. And I don't like that.

Anyway, if you have any thoughts on this, or you have similar problems rising in your area/country I would like to hear about it. It sucks.

I'm really interested what other western countries hear about these events, and how they form it in the media.

Arrgh! All that nationalism! :x

If every country wants to be better than the other, who´s worse than?!

Every country seems to have their own nationalistic party. Paradox when some german nazis support arabian groups, just for the sake that it´s against the US. But otherwise if an arab wanders through a city somewhere in eastern germany, they have to be aware of to get at least hurt if not killed by some skinheads. Otherwise I also don´t understand when people support nazi-groups allthough their countries have been invaded and devastated in WWII bei the german wehrmacht, like fe Russia, Ukrainia, Poland, Netherlands, Denmark and France.

Who cares at all?!

Curiously, very little on the BBC I could find just now. Is this the usual left wing anti-war/anti-globalization muppet brigade venting their anger on coffee shops and McDonald's, or muppets into far-right politics trashing the town because that is the extent of their political vision? Post a link you must mr Ninja

Exactly, but it's the right wing rumbling down the streets with medieval hungarian flags with ancient hunnic runes on their shirts. Of course most of them are just alcoholic football/other hooligans having fun again, and joining the brawl.

It's the anniversary of the revolution in 1956 against USSR. Somekind of national feast, but I hate all our feast as they turn out to be low-iq street brawls.

These are radicals (few hundred) and nobody really supports them (nor left or right parties) only the radical nationalsist parties of course.

They are causing much damage to my country, that's why I'm interested what the international media has to say about it this year.

The fights are about to start just now, and will continue atleast until midnight I guess.

We didn't had this nazi sindrome, it was catalized by our recent rather socialistic goverment somehow. Ten years ago, they were nowhere.

I really hate to see this.

They also have a half-military force now: "The Hungarian Guard"

It's really scarry, and does really sound/look familiar to some early-nazi power

This is the site of the radicalists in Hungary: http://www.jobbik.com/

You can read it in english (of course it's hardcore propaganda), but also check the images, there you can see the Guard.

It is interesting...Since i am hungarian too...but i not live in Hungary...

U are convinced, that this guys are dangerous ? Maybe they only want some changes, a better Hungary.

Also don't forget 5'th december 2004, where we hungarians who were forced to live in other countries due to Trianon, we wasn't accepted as citizens of Hungary. This was a shame for the hungarians who live in Hungary.

However i hope that a new government will assure this citizenship for us.

I am hungarian, i know who i am, i will be hungarian without this citizenship too, but maybe this would give a feeling that the mother country cares about us.

Btw u didnt replied my private message, La_Forge.

A PM? Didn't check it for ages.

I'm not sure they dangerous, but I'm pretty sure it is foolish to have a half-military group in a democratic system. They are simply not needed (just another radical reaction).

But I agree with you about the citizenship.

Speaking of nationalism. The UDC (swiss extreme right partie) managed to get a third of parlement this week. Iam not happy. :(

Why aren't you happy Mad? Won't they make Switzerland even more "neutral" if given the chance.

I heard they want to re-pave all of the roadways in Switzerland to be one long continuous road. That way everybody has to go down the same straight and narrow path, and not be tempted to turn "left" or "right" :P

Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

Speaking of nationalism, Im taking a course next semester titled "Nations and Nationalism", which focuses mostly on Russia and the Soviet Union.

That sounds interesting, mate!

I would like to attend a class focusing on todays Russia and the apocaliptic ubermaffia: Gazprom.

However, I don't want to be poisoned with radioactive pills.... uh okay, I don't want to know anything about it

Im taking a class on the history of Russia now, which goes until right before the creation of the USSR. Then next semester Im taking the same professor, who's teaching a "History of the Soviet Union" class, as well as the "Nations and Nationalism" class. He's a real interesting guy, who was born and raised in Kazakhstan. Between the history of Russia class and independent research on the Space Race, I have gained quite an interest in Russia.

I just feel that it could be a bit more...descriptive. I mean, it can be about anything. It could be about the history of Russia, or how to find Russia on a map, or the botany of Russia, or how to drink vodka...it's just so open-ended!!!!!!
