SOCL
Jahled and I have the same philosophy, although I do enjoy a red lager or a brown ale every so often with dinner. When it comes to going to pub, though, I'll have a Killian's, my particular favorite, to start the night, and then switch to something lighter, preferably Fosters. Unfortunately, unlike Jahled, I tend to like to drink far too much and consequentially have embarrassed one too many times, like the recent time I grabbed the bedsheets off my bed, wrapped them around myself like a toga, and paraded around the apartment and then my building's hallway screaming that I was "Imperator Caesar, son of the deified conqueror of Gaul", and by this I meant the Roman emperor Augustus. All this to the amusement of my flatmates and the other people in the building. And, sadly, I remember none of it and had to have it repeated to me. Now I meet random people on the street who apparently live in my building with a lovely, "How's it going, Caesar?" Now I meet random people on the street who apparently live in my building with a lovely, "How's it going, Caesar?" Hahahahaha Please tell me someone has photographic evidence! I got up to crazy stuff like that sort of thing (well almost ), and generally getting completely trashed in my teens and early twenties, I guess like most of us; the problem is we all need jobs and they tend to get a bit more serious as you age, as you begin to need to do stuff like think and have initiative at work, without eight pints of Stella from the evening before making being conscious feel like hell! Having a dead-end job, like what I did on and off for ages as a courier, bypasses this thinking requirement to some degree I guess, and I started on a pushbike, which was basically a nine hour workout in central London, so any grogginess from the night before was basically worked off by mid-morning; plus the added drinking endurance being super fit brings. But none of that holds if you want to get on in life, have an interesting job, and earn a respectable salary. When I suddenly found myself as a chauffeur controller, doing four on, four off, twelve hour shifts, it did come as a rude shock to the system, having to make my excuses from my mates and leave pubs to get home to sleep, because you sure as hell need to be fresh to do a twelve hour shift san a hangover, especially when the clients were executives from Chase Manhattan, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, etc, and the cars S-Class Mercedes. An error, and the management could get Vader on your job. Simple as. These days, I simply do not enjoy being drunk, and hence avoid the stronger largers. Sure I like a nice mellow little high in the evening and can effortlessly drink about nine or ten cans in a night I guess, of Fosters, nice, cheap, weak stuff, which combined with my body's tolerance to alcohol after the years of devastation I gave it enables me to operate a following day nice and happily, and be awake enough to have my wits about me. Given I'm in my mid-thirties, I can't help but feel my duty as an obviously 'older member' of the community to lay something down that was said to me when I was a teenager, that took a good few years for me to realize, realistically: Just because someone else can apparently 'handle' something, such as 'tolerance' to alcohol, it doesn't mean you can. Our bodies and minds are unique; size and apparent lucidness of temperament don't really come into it in my experience. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

I redid one of my schoolyears and therefore became the elder of my grade... It was rather shocking to have to carry home the younger ones after each of their parties. On the drunk side of things i guess you people will remember the videos i already posted and I will also recount a story that happened to me during the summer holidays. Me and one of my mates decided to bet on the fact we could drink 5liters of beer each (10 pints) in 3 hours... Sadly i only got through 4 liters before having to go and catch the train. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Darth_Rob
Probably my only drunk story is from a couple of years back when I was an assistant manager at a restaurant, and we all went to one guys house for a crazy party. It was one of my first times really drinking, and I really drank, and in the process I told one of the cooks that he was fired, and if I saw him at work the next day I would throw him out. But while I was smashed at my sister's wedding, I did not do anything out of control. If anything, I probably told my sister and her husband that I loved them one to many times. I do such things whilst completely sober! ... I also generally make twenty dollars for doing them, but that's beside the point. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
LordStefX
ok this is kind of off topic, but how exactly does the rank system work? http://www.danasoft.com/sig/hfahfhfzc.jpg
DarthTex
ok this is kind of off topic, but how exactly does the rank system work?Well, beer/ale are at the bottom, followed by malt liquors, then wine. Next should be different wines, then distilled liquors with the top of the heap being moonshine or grain alcohol. Or at least something like that Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"? SOCL
Very good, Tofu!! I went to an event this weekend in Georgia, only about a mere 10 hours south of where I live...not long at all........ The old fellows from Scotland across the field from us came over in the middle of the evening, the Major, our intel analyst, and I having a few laughs over some red wine apparently a nice attraction for them. They served us and then gave me a bottle of Bowmore Islay Single Malt--for those of us who have no idea what that means, it's a Scotch...and a bloody fantastic one at that! I recommend it highly, and this from a fellow who simply despises the hard stuff. It was--it is a very, very, very good drink. Eagle
@TofuAre you blaming me now for beeing shocked about a bottle for 300$ in a club or for posting that pic of Boy George? For the first, even in nightclubs/strip-clubs you may have to pay about 200/250$ for a good bottle of Vodka or Whiskey. At least where I live. For the second, you are not alone with thinking that Boy George is a woman. There were lots of people in the 80s who also thought that. I thought people should have known it better now. For the report:This eagle can´t fly nor land and I´m drinking a glas of water right now. Who cares at all?!
