Did anyone else catch the Family Guy Star Wars special last night? I've been looking forward to it since I heard about it a few weeks ago, but I forgot if I mentioned it.

It was really awesome. For those who didn't see it, they did an hour special of Family Guy that was a total redo of A New Hope. Family Guy characters replaced the original characters but kept there names (Stewie was Vader, Peter and Brian were Han and Chewie). It also kept a lot of the dialog, but of course there were some additional lines and what not to keep it Family Guy-ish. The amazing thing was that a lot of the scenes were drawn to depict exact scenes from the movie.

All in all, it was a great project they accomplished. It paid a lot of homage to A New Hope, while still keeping to Family Guy. My gf loved it, and she does not like Star Wars. But Family Guy did a really great job in connecting the two medias into one pleasant animated episode. Im really hoping they get enough feedback to go ahead and redo ESB and RoJ also...

I saw it and loved it! Rather than making fun of the movie as they went, as I'm sure they originally wanted to do, they paid homage, probably because A) GL asked them to and B) They want to do the next two as well.

I just about fell out of my seat laughing at a few parts.

Chris: "You don't believe in the Force?"

Peter: "Oh, what, you've known about this for, like, three hours, and now you're gonna get on my case about not believing in it?"

That episode was great, although I must admit I loved the Robot Chicken reference at the very end of the episode.

Also for everyone who missed it, check out ww.familyguyx.net, they have almost every family guy episode up for your viewing pleasure, including this one.

What do you mean they blew up the death star?!?

Well's who's they?!? What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?!?

I despise Family Guy as a television show with random and senseless humor but this episode was pretty decent (omit Obi-Wan musical).

But the random and senseless humor is what makes the show. Like the Simpsons, even though it is a cartoon show, is relatively believable (most of the time). But then you look at Family Guy, and you know right off the bat how ridiculous it is. But that's what makes it so good. Family Guy can do things that the Simpsons cannot do. Family Guy is a really decent and funny show, because some of the things they do are just so far out there.

I was looking forward to it for a few months and was happy to watch it. The newer seasons of Family Guy are a lot more toned down than some of the earlier stuff. Peter used to do a lot of messed up stuff to Lois and Stewie went from a mini killer to a mini homosexual. I found the killer more amusing but can still watch the newer eps. and get a chuckle.

The episode originally had a number of Luke and Leia incest jokes but Lucas required them to omit those. They are already talking of a "Empire Strikes Back" spoof.

Oh, you guys are welcome for the link, it would have showed up easier if I had typed it correctly the first time (beats self up against wall).

Having watched every episode I know it's not the first reference to star wars (I mean what show hasn't made fun of star wars or star trek yet?) but in my opinion it is definitely one of the best.

*Cough* isohunt.com *cough*

Uhh. oh.. already did... umm :)

Still! It would only raise the shows fame if they would allow it online. (totally unknown on this side of the planet)
