I forgot to point out a little trick I deployed with that gif that's handy for slashing file sizes of gifs. That, for example came out of Image Ready at a whopping 700kb, which is obviously far to large for a gif for any purpose other than raping bandwidth.

As you can see, the animation has 'scan lines,' every other vertical pixel is a black line, which when applied to the animation massively reduces the file size, whilst not having much effect on the over all image appearance.

Here's the technique, referenced for Photoshop, though I can't see how it couldn't be achieved in Paintshop Pro or other image software.

once you have all frames in imageready create a new layer at the top of the others, so it's at the top of the layers panel, then create a new imageready/photoshop file; 1 px wide 2 px deep, transparent background.

Fill in the top px black then click edit: define pattern,

then, back on the main animation on the new blank layer (which should be transparent), click edit - fill - pattern, and don't click preserve transparency. It 'should' then put the scanlines over all the frames for you

and there you are.

Finally, to boost the illumination of the now 'scan lined' image, because they tend to make everything seem pretty dark, put an adjustment layer underneath the scanline layer to up the brightness/contrast of all the layers beneath (in the layer menu of photoshop). Huzzah! :)

Surfing adult stuff I suspect K, we are dealing with a fiendish, rapscallion squirrel here!

You can observe here something went a bit wrong with this duckling's development. Note how mother-duck tried to teach it the ways of the Force! ..but how she failed!

FAIL!

Cute and fluffy critters- a must for photoshop! Nice, Jahled, I'd missed those two!

On a side note: Rob's new avatar is looking at me suggestively, grinning, raising its eyebrows, and winking. I'm not that kinda guy, Rob. Tell your avatar to stop hitting on me, please. It could never work out between us.

Hahahahahaha :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Utterly hilarious Eagle! What is that from?

I wrapped it up in tags though dude, cause 790kb is a bit large. I don't want to come across a pedantic on the image size thingy, but I've watched it happen elsewhere, where every other post has a meg within it, quickly crippling and subsequently killing threads, and thus visits to websites..

As a rule of thumb virtually all of mine are within 200kb. I know you said you found it, but it doesn't hurt to right click the properties and check the file size! :D

Part of me is feeling a bit daft though, given I can hardly type though given I am still laughing from seeing it!

I can feel I might try and do something with that..

Sorry, wasn´t aware of the size. Just found it in another forum ( ) and posted it here.

Next time I will take more care. :D

No problem about making a link for it though.

You are talking about the "Motivational Thread"? ;)

Who cares at all?!

No, other websites that either no longer exist, or I never visit because my bandwidth is raped if I do.

A big problem with the Internet, and this is no way aimed at you Eagle dude, there are a lot of users having their Internet connection paid for by school, university, or their parents, and they neglect or overlook consideration.

When you grow up, things, strangely, aren't free anymore.

Is that Alien vs Predator?

Man, you just keep pumping out the Gif's.

Since I saw you posting some things with Squirls before I wonder if you can use this at all? Found it earlier today.

So you´ve got a dial-up connection, Jahled?

I´m happy in having dsl since over two years, though dial-up became more and more expensive and unreliable. :?

I've got broadband, but my connection is capped, meaning I have to pay additional money if I exceed my allocated bandwidth, hence why I get so irritable when people post unnessarily huge image files.

Page one one of this thread outlined some usefull guidelines for posting stuff here abouts, or anywhere on this site for that matter, because 1mb .gifs are simply stupid for example, especially when it all adds up and has an effect on your bank account. I spend 19/20 of my internet time on a graphics website, so i'm being raped anyway; I simply could do without it when I end up here for some peace and sanity..

I rarely venture to the 'motivational thread, ' however, simply because I am not a fan of such internet humor. Each to their own! :)
