Guest JediIgor Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Sorry, but LEC could give a rat's ass about the EU.. I wouldn't be surprised if several of the races in JKIII will be "all-new."
Trejiuvanat Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Sadly, Igor, you're probably right....Still as long I can create Iulan S'Tor, i'm happy.Although, it would pretty stupid not to have Vong. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Take a look:http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/features.htmhttp://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/images/title.jpg As a new student of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, follow an ancient tradition and learn the powers - and dangers - of the Force. The Force is a powerful ally; use it wisely. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Scathane Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Talking about taking a look: http://www.lucasarts.com/products/jediacademy/images/screens/9.jpg And then there's that Twi'lek!
the_mask Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Yup I already read that in the Gamestar, but was too tired to post about it. The editors also asked Raven, why they still used the Q3A engine, the answer was, that they know every line of code in it and have come up with things, that seemed impossible during the development of JKII. Also you seem to start as the Padawan of Kyle. Everyone starts with the normal lightsaber and later you can decide wether to build a double-bladed, or two sabers. Sadly I read between the lines, that you seem to be slowed down, if you use a double-bladed saber. I didn't get it, why that was already done in the Jedi+ mod. Darth Maul wasn't exactly slower than Qui Gon, or Obi Wan... http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Guest Scathane Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Sadly I read between the lines, that you seem to be slowed down, if you use a double-bladed saber. I didn't get it, why that was already done in the Jedi+ mod. Darth Maul wasn't exactly slower than Qui Gon, or Obi Wan... Option 1:Maul probably was slower with a doublebladed lightsaber, although he may not have looked it. Why is this, then?Well, first of all, he's slower because of the simple fact that the doublebladed lightsaber is heavier and larger, which gives it more inertia. Hence, you need more muscle power or to move it. Assuming that Maul has the same musclepower and reflexes as the other two Jedi, he must've been slower.Nevertheless, a doublebladed lightsaber, gives you a 180-degree span of attack, which (more than) makes up for the loss in speed.By the way, there is a reason why people wielding doublebladed lightsabers don't look to be any slower. I've seen this in Aikido-class: a man twirling his jo (a 'stick' of about 1.27 meters) around whilst making a waving motion from his head to his hip, actually makes only one 360-degree turn per wave (i.e., the jo revolves around its own central point only once when moved from head to hip). When you see that same man doing this, however, you would think you saw him making about four or five 360-degree turns in one wave. Option 2:Option 1 notwithstanding, Darth Maul was a highly trained fighting-machine. I mean, he did take on two Jedi at the same time! It might just be possible that Darth Maul was stronger and had better reflexes than the two Jedi.
the_mask Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Ha, I tied the spawn command to a key and spawned about 40 Reborn to fight at the same time when I was first trying out level building in JK2 The weird thing was, I actually survived most times http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

Apart from not having read any Star Wars novels, I haven't played modded or otherwise altered JKII either...
TK421 Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Try that with Shadowtroopers Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
TK421 Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 So I read all the features and it is just JO with Jediplus mod. Stupid But looking forward to it! Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
ElvisMiggell Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 Yeah, though with new levels chars and plot, and new weapons from the sound of things. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
TK421 Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 Well.. of course I am interested, a good story (like in JK2) is great and I'll probably enjoy the game! Gimme the game! *can you boogie?* Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
Guest JediIgor Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 It says in Shadow Hunter that only the most elite Jedi had dual-bladed lightsabers... Exar Kun and Darth Maul are probably the only two famous ones that had it.. Now if some padawans can use a dual lightsaber, why can't the guys on the Jedi Council?
Jahled Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 (edited) Woo-Hay!!! Look what I found at http://www.swforums.net http://www.holonetz.com/files/jk3/ Drool I must try not... ..Jahled edits: (might as well add the dialog with the link) - The story takes place several years after JK2 (no exact date is given). - Kyle now teaches at Luke's jedi academy - the main character will be Kyle's padawan (because Kyle became to powerful at the end of JK2) - you can create your own player and customize his look (only Humans and Twi'leks are confirmed so far, but there will be more races available). - the first levels will be about your training at the academy under Luke and Kyle - then you have to solve several small quests - you discover a huge conspiracy, that threatens the whole galaxy - almost each level will be on another planet or location - confirmed locations: the Jedi academy, Tatooine, Hoth, a mercenary outpost, and dark temple complexes (a Sith temple maybe?) - like in JK1, there will be two different endings (good or bad Jedi) - the game will be non-linear, you can choose between several missions (minor side-missions or the important story-missions). Guest Scathane Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 You just drool along, Jahled dude! I must say that these screenshots look very good.
ADarkJedi44 Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 I'll try not to drool. Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
ElvisMiggell Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 I tried, and failed. There are now thick globules of drool on my keyboard. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Guest Scathane Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 I tried, and failed. There are now thick globules of drool on my keyboard. You know it;s exactly this kind of oneliner that Evaders hates, now don't you?
ElvisMiggell Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 No it's not, it's the long deviations. So other than the whole lightsabers thing, what's really going to be different? Multiple endings sounds fun. You should be able to earn force powers by completing puzzles etc. The more kills you get the more power and stuff etc. Kinda like the levels in JK II, but also like the stars in JK I. Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
AndyHalfelf Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 I tried, and failed. There are now thick globules of drool on my keyboard. NO! Do or do not there is no try! Have you forgotten that Elvis?? either you don't drools or you DO drools Jedi Corran Duchai at your service. There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force.
