budious Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Ok... so I was bored today and started playing with thing "Second Life" crap to pass some time. Has anyone else tried this? For some reason my character turned out to be transvestite butch who likes his leopard skin bellbottoms... PHSYCOBOB Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I took some time and read a lot of the information on the main website, interesting stuff, maybe I'll find you in there, Buds. =o) -Got to hold off for a week or two at least-
budious Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 LOL... this thing is insane... i ditched the cheetah outfit for a cat suit and some angel wings... then I found my way into a large virtual orgy room with some free basic downloadable male "enhancement" objects... there's just something funny about a room full of virtual naked people getting it on... and sound clips from actual pornos accentuating the climaxes... I LOL'd I would post a screenshot but it's that disturbing... I think they prefer I leave this site in its innocence... or at least just go check this out For the model editors here... the way I understand this... you can create models and if people want them you can sell them at a virtual currency (Linden $) price and then convert the funds to US$ at whatever the current exchange rate is in the "game - simulation" economy and make real money for your 3d and texture skills. Could use a decent darth vader outfit. "In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Ikelae Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 oooh I have heard of this! Haha doesnt it cost something or something?
budious Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Yes, it cost $ to purchase land or in game credits. Character creation is free though and you can find some free objects within the game or create your own items to sale or generate money, so paying with real currency is not required per say. budious Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 ... exactly. I most admit it lost it's amusement after a while... the world is too huge and the performance of the servers are horrible when about 20,000 users are logged on, not nearly enough to populate a virtual environment of this size... I wouldn't pay for it anyways. "In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 5, 2007 SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 5, 2007 It's funny what I read about a slime "virus" that clogged up the servers. It kept spawning itself so much that the server had to go down for it to be cleaned up. Defender_16 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I thought about getting a second life account way back when it started but I didn't have a credit card yet and wasn't about to ask my parents. Now I'll have to start thinking about it again. LOL! Love the 'First life' thing Evaders.
DarthTofu Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I tried to buy the game, but I only had about a quarter of the price... The guy at the store gave me Half Life instead... (Rim shot, please) 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
budious Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Half Life is such a great game.. Second Life's graphic engine reminds of 1997 in all it's glory. Mad78 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Half-Life rocked. HL2 rocks even more. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Krytos Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Half Life is a fabulous game - enjoy it! Second Life ... well, any game you have to pay for more than once is stupid in my opinion http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
budious Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Or you can pay for the game then have valve go and toss ads in all over the place as is the case with counter strike 1.6 update this week... Krytos Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Argh! What pricks! I heard Valve were being ****s with a lot of their games. I just though it was things like the gun price market for CS:S that no-one wanted and no-one seems to like. But that, that's just low - EA low http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif

Darth_Rob Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 It sure does. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
Mad78 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I don't get it. I must admit its a bit of a bore have a Steam ad appear everytime you quit HL2. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
budious Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 Well good thing I switched my laptop to dual boot BSD/Linux... I didn't want any of that AIDS stuff ... my desktop must be HIV+ since its XPx64 but hasn't manifested itself into AIDS yet "In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives.
