wormie Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 The Dark Side leaves stains in Jedi? The Dark Side could be considered moments of learning as well, instead of talking about stains... Why is it that the Light Side train of thought is larded with irreversability? I think that in one of the books someone (possibly Luke himself) says that Luke's brush with the Dark side and his return from it, had indeed made him stronger. Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has, how embarrassing. - Yoda Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying

Trejiuvanat Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 He says he is stronger, because he uses the Force more. He usses the Force as a tool, whenever he can't do anything he suses the Force to force his way through, instead of realying on the insight that is supposed to come through the Force. After his adventure on Byss he calls himself a Jedi Master, because he thinks that these knowledge of employing the Force makes him a master. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
wormie Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 I't sounds like you think that he doesn't have that knowledge. Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has, how embarrassing. - Yoda Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying
Trejiuvanat Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 no he doesn't realize what he is missing. until that battla at Iphigin, and when Mara points it out on nirauan. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
wormie Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 I forgot about that, that's in the Thrawn Duology. I'm an Idiot. Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has, how embarrassing. - Yoda Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying
Trejiuvanat Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 No, you're Canadian!!! http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest Scathane Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 On Byss Luke turned to the dark side, because he arrogantly thought he could use the dark side to sabotage the dark side form within. Following your earlier argument (it's in another post: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=352&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30) that the Dark and Light Side are dependent on the wielder of the Force, not on the force itself, this makes an interesting concept. If I 'transcribe' your sentence to this new argument, you're saying the following:On Byss, Luke turned to his own Dark Side, because he arrogantly thought he could uses his own Dark Side to sabotage his own Dark Side from within. Well, I must admit that this will leave some stains..., if they weren't already there. There are two things out of the ordinary with this line of reasoning, namely:1. If you want to change things about yourself, whether they be vice or virtue, you just have to do this from within (at least, I see no other options beside incarceration or lobotomy )2. It's a ludricous idea to succumb to your vice to arrogantly think that you can fight this vice: that's not arrogant, that's plain stupid! And, since I don't think that Luke is stupid, I believe this is yet another argument that the SW universe possesses an absolute Dark Side as such.
